Hi all
I've been assigned to work with our Outsourced IT Suppliers for 6 weeks at short notice.
What do I really need to know about cultural differences, dress codes (business/leisure), things and places that perhaps should be avoided/or not (;-)) best places to eat/drink be merry, weather at the moment, getting around etc,.
All tips are appreciated
I havent been to Bangalore but i am of Indian origin
eating is quite reasonable in 5 star hotels compared to prices in uk
taxis and 3 wheelers are quite cheap
there is no dress code in particular
have a nice time
For eating I would recommend the "Karavalli"
That's 1 of the restaurant of the Taj Gateway Hotel, on Residency Road (just next to MG Road)
I've been to Bangalore 5 times for work and that's the best place I found for food!!!
For dress code, just wear collars with short (or long) sleeves, no tie necessary!
Big cultural difference, no kissing in public (I'm from Belgium where we kiss between guys to say hello, that's why I say big cultural difference) so shaking hands to say hello is in order.
Enjoy your trip, and watch your weight (I love that food!) :-)

The State Archaeological Museum, one of the oldest in India, was built in 1876 by Colonel Sankey, located within Cubbon Park, is similar in design to the Attara Kacheri in its architectural style and hue. While the original collection in the museum belonged to Benjamin L. Rice of the Mysore Gazetteer, antiquities from the Mohenjodaro period are on display as well as specimens of Vijaynagar and Halebid architecture, ancient coins, bronzes, paintings, arms and armour, and stone inscriptions as old as 5000 years.
Open: 10am-5pm every day except Mondays. Admission: Rs4.
