Hi,
I have a day, probably two in Bangalore in Jan. What are the main things to see? I read some sites and guidebooks and all seemed to point the reader outside the city, to Mysore. Is there really nothing to see in the city?
How convenient is it to get to Mysore? Is a day trip enough or should I stay the night there?
This would be my first time traveling to India and would appreciate any tips! Thanks.
wel.. banglore is one of the best city in india to party. It has a grt night life wit the most number of clubs in country. Besides you can visit the vishweswaraya museum or the vidhan saudha. And about mysore , u can stay thr for 2 days during which you have a number of lovely palaces and museums to visit. Enjoy ur stay in india !!!

bangalore has a lot of places to see like vidhan soudha ,kubbon park ,lal bagh,bangalore fort,etc lots of pubs ,discos,parties,etc

Buses are over crowded.Autos are the best way of commuting.Use metered autos.Settle the fares before boarding the auto.
Trains can be used only if you are travelling outside Bangalore.
Bangalore tourism has daily sight seeing trips in and around bangalore.Try using government trips or trips arranged by hotels.

One of Bangalore main attractions, this temple is exclusively used for the worship of the sacred bull in Hinduism, known as Nandi, Lord Shiva's vahana, or animal mount. The word "Nandi" means "joyful" in the Sanskrit language.
The temple was built in 1537 by a local ruler under the Vijayanagara empire in the Vijayanagara architectural style. The ruler, a feudatory chief named Kempe Gowda, also founded the city of Bangalore. The temple is named after the large granite Nandi monolith placed on a plinth in the temple shrine (garbhagriha) which has become blackened from years of being rubbed with charcoal and oil. It is believed to be the largest Nandi murthis in the world with a height of approximately 15 ft (4.6 m) and a length of approximately 20 feet (6.1 m). The temple is a small one, consisting only of the shrine fronted by a porch in the Vijayanagara style. The current tower over the shrine was constructed in the early 20th century and is adorned with Saivite figures and motifs.
