Chinese food is available in Bangalore as abanduntly as in Kolkata or Delhi, there are certain outlets which you can try out for quality chinese food. For example, the Amoeba International in Church Street is the best place in the city as far as Chinese cuisine is concerned. You can get a wide range of Chinese cuisine from Hunan to Szechwan in Amoeba International's Three Quarter Chinese Restaurant.. You can visit this restaurant if you are going to Bangalore. I liked their Dry Pepper Chicken the most.

"India's Silicon Valley"

I've heard Bangalore called India's Silicon Valley many times over the years. It is the center of the country's IT, computer and calling center industries. But it is also a beautiful spot, with a temperate climate because of altitude and a large middle and upper class. As a matter of fact, I prefer it to San Jose. This was my second trip - 15 years after my first. I was amazed at the changes. We had considered retiring here back then - but the strain of rapid growth (pollution, crowds, etc) make it a less appealing plan.

India's success in the IT world started here more than 15 years ago and has spread thoughout the country. The growth in Bangalore has been hard to keep up with and the city's infrastructure is strained to the limit. But give them time - Indians are the most innovative and hard working folks I've ever met.

"Seat of Karnataka's Government"

Bangalore is also the capitol of Karnataka with many government buildings spread throughout the city. The Parliment building was a completely Indian design and build. I've seen pages here that credit the British - nope - wrong- built in 1956.

"Poverty still"

Don't get me wrong, poverty is still an issue here as it is in all large cities in India. But the middle class here is larger than elsewhere in India and the success continues.
