Koramangala
by incp about Juke Box
Nice, inexpensive restaurant in Koramangala. Has lots of old record album covers on the wall. A mix of food, ranging from Indian to Indo-Chinese. Can be a bit loud, but that adds to the fun. A little small, and gets quite crowded in the evenings.
All of India in Bangalore

"Old over New"
I was told that you can see a little of everything that is India in Bangalore. A modern city but steeped in rich traditions and practices... How do you define a modern city? By the numbers of shopping malls, sky scrapers and cars on the road? Sure, Bangalore is slowly brimming with those, but more often than not, its slow ascent into modernisation is halted by everything Indians hold dear.. it's beliefs.. I am intrigued when I hear that a planned electric railway route which was discovered to cut through a uncharted temple ground.. priority is given instead to save the sacred purpose... the railway plan is halted ... some small steps towards modern infrastructure have to give way to the hearts of Indians... India is first and foremost of the old, the new must thread lightly, unintrusively in order to mesh itself to form the modern India... baby steps but I hope it gets there..
