The best way to commute from Rly Stn to Alliance Business Academy is through Auto RIckshaws available at the station. I donot know if prepaid ones are available. Ask around for Prepaid Autos and if they are available get into them. If prepaid ones are not available. The ideal price would be not more than 120 bucks to get you to BTM. Settle with them before getting into one. There should be rest rooms in the railway station where you should be able to spend the night. There are lot of economy budget hotels also around.

Thanks a ton!

The best way is Auto. They charge you approx 60-75 Rs from Bus stand to BTM layout.

You can check out for Pai Vijay Hotel in Jayanagar area which is near to BTM Layout. Please avoid taking hotels near bus stand. One good hotel near busstand in Kamath Yatrinivas

Travel Tips for Bangalore

A drinkable White from Grover Wineyards

by cochinjew

Because of its agreeable climate and hilly terrain, Bangalore has a nascent wine industry, grapes from France has been planted around Nandi Hills. Already some whites and a couple reds are available at supermarkets. I found this white to be quite drinktable. The reds were not that good. Also of interest to note that supermarkets are begining to sell wines from South Africa and Chile. The price is around twice the local variety and I urge to support the local industry.

250-350 rupees for a local bottle of wine
500-1000 rupees for a bottle of south african or chilean wine

Don't miss the EXQUISITE Bangalore Coffee!

by Fudge

Known commonly as Chikmagalur coffee (get the prono right, pratise by breaking it up into 4 syllables and then repeat until you can say it as one smooth word!), this DARK FOREST coffee is probably the smoothest I've had across Asia (India, Pak, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia [incl Sabah]) so i tempt you in more ways than one.

It is harvested on an 184 year old coffee estate. Bordered by the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and Bhadra Lake.

It has a wonderfully smooth subtle yet engagingly coffee taste and its aroma is the kind you want to take a long inhalation on :)

Mysore Page

by holyman

Close to Bangalore, is the city of Mysore. Earlier a princely state, the Mysore Palace is every minute worth the visit. Here is a picture of the pillars in the Durbar Hall, standing as mute witnesses to a bygone era.

"Bannerghatta Page"

Tigers and Lions once freely roamed India, a land mass greater than a third of the United States. Today most wildlife is confined to sanctuaries and wildlife reserves, some of them quite close to Bangalore.

The national animal of India is a tiger. Here is a picture from Bannerghatta National Park, a 104 square kilometer wildlife park, just a few kms from Bangalore. On a good day you may come across a few tigers or a lion as in this picture!

Here is a picture of a tiger couple basking in the sun!
