late arrival in bangalore

by bullhead84

Will be arriving in Bangalore at about 11pm and just wondering if any one has any idea if there is any hotels that offer 24 hour check in but also not to expensive.
Also, what is the safest and easiest way to get to your hotel at that time of night?
Finally, i am planning to travel to Kerala after ive spent a couple of days in Bangalore, any suggestions at an easy and cheap option on getting there?

Hi,
Like I told you in the Chennai forum, the safest way to go from the airport late in the night would be to take a prepaid taxi. You will find them in the airport itself.
google search on serviced apartments/guesthouses in b'lore and you may find accomodation that is cheaper than hotels.
Regards,
Vpas

Bangalore airport (NEW) is located 30 miles away from the town. Please take government Bus which is the cheapest and the best.
The cost effective hotels (24 hrs check-in) hotels are located around the main bus station & railway station - MEJESTIC AREA. You can find a lot of hotels around. Some of the well known budget hotels in the area are Kamat, Chalukya,

Also check if there are any hotel counters opened at the airport.
Have a good time.

NO PROBLEM TO FIND TAXIS AND PREPAID TAXIS AT THE AIRPORT ANY TIME( i arrived at 1 am) you can go to hotel empire international in church street that is very central and not expensive ;have a look to their website )what is interesting with this hotel is that you rent your room for 24hours and of course you can check in and out anytim

Make sure you definately hire a prepaid taxi before you leave the airport
this is very important

Otherwise, even better, organise with the hotel a transfer service and they can pick you up and take you there

seems like you have a lot of fun ahead of you! we just recently stayed at Hotel Ajanta on MG Road. it is very close to Brigade road, it's in Lonely planet, and its just a nice budget hotel. you can read my review. but it does offer 24 hour check in, and just take a Tut-tut or taxi to your hotel. it's perfectly safe, but in general, don't choose the tut-tut driver that seems slightly drunk, remember, these drivers are individuals so keep your eyes open, your ears tuned and just try and pick one that speaks a little english and seems awake and aware.

if you are arriving at the airport, Get a Taxi! it's a long ride, about 20km.

Kerala is fantastic. stay in Kochi, enjoy it, take the train from Bangalore, it's a very common route, take 2AC or 3 AC. and enjoy. always enjoy.!

Tippu's Summer Palace

by undisputed

The construction of the palace began by Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan completed it in 1791. It is one of several beautiful palaces they built all over the state. Tipu Sultan used it as his summer residence and named it Tashk-e-Jannat meaning the envy of heaven. Constructed mainly of wood, its intricately sculptured arches and minarets are worth perusing. The walls and ceilings are covered with paintings though faded through the centuries.
