Never heard of it. Be careful with Bangalore Hotels. They are rare and full and very few of them have availability.
So better try to go higher end hotels if you don't want to fight with mosquitoes ;)
Travel Tips for Bangalore
Indian Railways
by grets
We travelled to Bangalore on the overnight train from Trivandrum. It was a quintessetially Indian experience and one which I would not have been without, despite many hours of boredom. The journey took 20 hours.
One of the highlights was on arrival at Bangalore station. Unsure about whether this actually was the correct station my mother was trying to ask the question of the Indian couple we shared a compartment with. They were unable to undersatnd or speak English, but suddenly we heard a posh English voice outside the window saying: "Yes Mrs Howard, this is the station where you get off"
It was Simon Bazely, who had liased with his agents in Trivandrum to find out which compartment we were in and had travelled up from Delhi to meet us at the station. Such service!
Bangalore Fort
by Willettsworld
Situated opposite the City Market, Bangalore Fort was originally built in mud by Kempe Gowda, the founder of the present-day city, in the early 16th century. The fort was later fortified by Tipu Sultan after being handed it back by Lord Cornwallis in 1791. It is noted for the beautifully carved Islamic-style arches, minarets and paintings. There is an ancient Ganapati Temple and dungeon within the area of the fort and this is all that remains of the fort today.
Open: 9am-6pm.
