If your used to the Four Seasons...

Stayed here a couple nights through a local Indian friend. Upon arrival into the lobby, I was impressed at the attention to detail and the unmistakable service levels comprable to the Four Seasons. Pretty much everything was like the Four Seasons from the turn down service to the spa. Good place!

Unique Quality: Beautiful swimming pool area with this fantastic mosaic blue mini-tiles.

A Great Oasis of Calm

The Leela Palace Kempinski Hotel is 5 minutes from the new airport and within 20 minutes of anywhere in Bangalore. Hands down, it is the nicest hotel I've stayed at in India. Truely world class it give the best of HongKong a run for the prize. Very spacious rooms, each with their own balcony and Italian marbled bathrooms. And always a sign of class - a telephone in the WC. King size bed with turndown service.

254 rooms, 3 restaurants 2 bars, a large pool and excellent spa. Great common areas and wonderful food at each of the restaurants. Discreet but attentive service. Very fast room service available 24 hours.

Had a good conference rate ($175) and an upgrade to a larger room that normally runs $450. Spendy, but ya have to splurge once in a while - right?

A nice shopping center attached to the grounds.

Unique Quality: The whole package comes together to create a luxurious experience.

"7 Star" Hotel

After travelling through India, there is no question that this hotel is exactly what it strives to be. Although it's very pricey (around $270/nite), Leela is truly a 5 star hotel.

Many hotels in India claim to be 5 star, but none are even close to the standards you'd expect. Most are 3 star at best.

Leela has incredible design, delicious restaurants and bars, a beautiful pool and spa and a galleria of top notch shops that even the budget traveller can afford.

I loved every minute of this hotel. Do not be fooled by other so called "5 star" hotels in India. You WILL be disappointed.

Unique Quality: The property (landscape, design, restaurants) are absolutely gorgeous!

The rooms are spacious all with great views. We had a view of the pool, but you can also opt for a view of the beautifully landscaped courtyard and ponds.

Perhaps the rooms facing away from the property are less expensive???

I have found Roxel Inn in Fraiser Town a nice place to bunk at. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom/loos are clean, and they serve breakfast on the house. It is a serviced apartment. We stay at the cost of Rs. 1700 (that is with tax) or so per night.
