Hey B'lore VTs!
I'll be visiting Bangalore Fri Nov 4 - Wed Nov 9 on a business trip from Seattle (to recruit software engineers), and I'd love to hook up with cool people while I'm there, to hang out in fun places, make a deeper connection with the city and citizen, maybe share a dinner, a drink, a chillum :), or a good conversation.

Also, any recommendations on good places to hang out or visit?

Hi. Not sure if i can hangout but can surely help you in case you face any problem in Bangalore. I am basically a software engineer myself so must tell you that the market here is very tough and its gonna be hard finding people. Can suggest some shopping places and pubs. Try to book your hotel or pub near MG Road and you won't face any difficulty for anything. Anything else you can ask me at amitm79@yahoo.com

Have a gr8 time in b'lore. I caution, traffic is going to be tough. But , the city is good place to be.

Not only do you get to browse through books that you would never buy in a million years you can sit at the ChaBar n read them and enjoy a cuppa tea as well... Nice snacks too
Even I am not basically from Bangalore, (I am from Kerala, another state in India), I lived in Bangalore for almost more than 4 years. I started my job there after studies and been working with 3 companies, last being my present one, Accenture. Bangalore is called the Garden City of india, the city is full green with lots of gardens and parks. Also it is highly polluted and densly populated. Traffic crawls in almost full time. The city is a good hang out place, lots of pubs, some discos, good shopping places etc. But in india always beware of pickpockets and being looted by shop vendors if you are from abroad. Always try to be logical and use your common sense. And have food/water only from descent places, the water systems are worst, if you compare with western countries. It is the situation in all over india, for your information. The best place to roam around in bangalore is through renting a car. There too go to only well known, reputed people if you are from abroad, or else you might get cheated. Look for the registration, Insurance and that the car seems to be fine when you take it. Inside the city limits it is as I said it is highly conjusted, but I suggest you travel outside the city. You can go to MYSORE, a beautiful city, where you will find the beautiful palace. See it without fail. ALso you can see the VRINDAVAN GARDENS in Mysore. And some other small places too.
