Bhang Lassi Bangalore

by jakeandthefatman

Im staying in Bangalore till the end of July. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to find, or at least point me in the right direction of, a Bhang Lassi in the Bangalore area. I did not come to India with the intention of trying it but it sounds very interesting.

Can't help with Bangalore, but as Bhang Lassi seems to be something that appeals to tourists, try checking out the backpacker area.

Just a bit of a warning though - we tried it in Jaiselmer, and got lost & chased by dogs. Don't over-do it.

I've heard the Pan(betel leaf rolled with sweet after meal sweetners)guy on Brigade road discreetly sells could pick it up from him & get some lassi take away & mix it yourself and have it....he probably might offer it in a Pan leaf(betel leaf)....the other area i can think of id Chickpet which a lot of Marwari population, who are the major consumers of bhang during the holi festival....

Be careful not to be fooled with Abin, its a narcotic stuff....

In the Coorg Mountains, between Mangalore and Mysore, you can visit an area where a group of tibetan refugees settled when they had to scape from the chinese invasion of Tibet in the 60s. They have settled here, have children, buddhist monasteries, farms... They even have a guest house (Sera Guest House) to sleep there.

In 1864 Sir Richard Shankey, the chief engineer of Mysore, laid out the Cubbon Park. The park was named after the longest serving Commissioner of Bangalore - Sir Mark Cubbon. A lush grassy expanse with flowerbeds, shady bowers and flowering trees, Cubbon Park is a haven for thousands of strollers and breeze seekers
