Palaka Resorts, managed by Ocio Hospitality: Palaka Resorts, Hassan's Best Resort

Very nice resort for a quiet lazy weekend away from Bangalore. Great unexplored resort which is hardly a year old. Only about a 4 hour drive from Bangalore, with a very nice road (the resort is just off the Mysore-Hassan main road). The resort staff were very friendly and promptly catered to our needs. We spent hours in the swimming pool which also has a kid's pool. We visited the historical towns of Shravanabelagola, Belur and Halebid which are only about 50 kms from the resort. So, the stay of 2 nights, 3 days was ideal for us. We had fun, we had some small sightseeing, we relaxed.

This resort has 10 cottages, a swimming pool, a conference room, a nice restaurant, an artificial lake, coconut grooves, etc. Within walking distance of a nice lake and a dam.

Highly recommended for (a) Weekend breaks from Bangalore, Mangalore and Mysore (b) For tourists visiting Belur, Halebid and Shrvanabelagola.

Unique Quality: (a) Lots of activities to do: swimming; rope climbing; visit to the nearby dam and lake; pedal boating within the resort; tractor ride; walk through the coconut groove, etc.
(b) Quiet resort as it has only 10 rooms and there is lots of space around. Though there were lots of families in that weekend, and the resort was full, it was very quiet and relaxed.
(c) The food is simple and nice.
(d) The service is very good.
(e) Nursing that drink when seated on the sitout and watching the sunset.
