Mysore and ooty which is in a near railway station /bus depo location .I am visit in oct last week (after end of diwali) with my family total 4 persons. (request:-hotel name/ phone no and tarrif detials required)

parshuram
We stayed in Hotel Dasamprikash. (that's how the name sounds anyway) - I have no idea of the correct spelling. They have a hotel in Mysore, and one in Ooti. It was cheap, and they served good food. If you can try find the correct spelling of the hotel name, they might have a website, so you can do a search.
Good Luck - unfortunatelly my memory isn't too great at the mo. and my India journal isn't nearby.

I stayed at The Viceroy on Sri Harsha Road almost 3 years ago. Very clean, comfortable. . .it was not the cheapest available, but since you're traveling with your family, I doubt you're looking for true "low-end" accomodation.

Our journey from Mysore to Ooty took us through Bandipur National Park. We were keen to go off the main road to exlpore, but were told that it was forbidden.
Apparently there was a bandit on the loose in the park, having evaded police for some considerable time. He had already killed 90 people in the area, and was now looking to spread his notority by appearing on the BBC, so he was "advertising" that he intended to kill one or more British tourists.
We chose to remain in the car on the main highway.
We did come across this man with his elephant while in the park, and hoping he was not the villain, got out of the car to take photographs.
This palace is nearly impossible to miss ~ it stands right in the middle of Mysore. It was built in the early 1900's on the site of a palace that had been destroyed by a fire.
The interior has been well-maintained ~ there's a lot of decoration (stained glass, woods, tiles) to catch the eye.
As in every temple in the South of India, you have to leave your shoes outside. No pictures are allowed once inside the temple. This is one of the offering and blessing places outside the sanctum sanctorum.
A priceless national treasure and the pride of a kingdom, the Mysore Palace is the seat of the famed Wodeyar family.
The Mysore Palace was built over one thousand years ago, in AD 897. Saracenic in style, the palace has both Hindu as well as Muslim influences.
After a fire in 1897, Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV rebuilt the palace as we see it today. The main building is of massive gray granite with a tower covered by a gilded dome. A temple is situated within the royal courtyard.
