Regaalis Hotel Mysore

this is great hotel to stay in the beautiful city of Mysore.
i highly recommend this, it is set in a nice open complex.
it has many restaurants and the food is absolutely superb. there is restaurant for buffet breakfasts every morning which has a wide selection of western and eastern foods and an open air outdoor restaurant which is also wonderful.

i was in Mysore for the famous dussehra celebrations.

Unique Quality: it has a great outdoor / pool area where you can dine / drink in the outdoor restaurant.
it also has a big lobby and does currency exchanges.

We ended up in Mysore over the long Christmas weekend along with maybe a million more people. Our reservations were first at Sandesh the prince which turned out to be a great misadventure since they were trying to put us someplace adjacent to that.

After many phone calls, we were able to get into Regaalis (formerly Southern Star) right next to Metropole. Beautiful place with very quiet and efficient staff. Excellent food and wine list. Efficient room service (just be careful about what you leave behind in your room when u go out; I had some fruit which got thrown away by housekeeping!)
They also have some stores worth looking at but not sure about how well they are priced.
