The Windflower Spa & Resorts

We loved the position and ambiance of this wonderfully conceived little resort on the outskirts of Mysore. The suite we had was lovely - especially the step-up 4-poster bed in delicious dark wood - very sexy! All the furniture has been imported from Malasia (or so I was told), and I must say it all looks pretty high class stuff! The two-storey units (housing two rooms each) stand either side of an attractive slender pool which is lit up in the evening and surrounded by palm trees and resident (non-agressive!) geese!

The reception is cool and attractive and service throughout is pleasant and courteous. (There's even a friendly cockatoo who'll help you at check-out!).

The restaurant is shadey and relaxed, and the food is excellent and inexpensive (and the generous breakfast is included in the price!).

The pool is fine, but could do with a bit more maintenance to make it more appealing.

I had a great 90minute 2-man massage for £20 in a fully equiped spa room - steam box, the lot! Impressive stuff, and the chaps doing it were very experienced too.

We can also recommend Sharif the driver used by the hotel, who gave us great deals on city tours and transfers - hope we can use him again too.

Overall we loved the place, and intend to return on a future trip to the South!

Directions: Near the racecourse, below Chamundi Hill, and 6km out of town.

Away from the city din, flanked by the golf course and race course, this is an ideal place to stay in Mysore. It is just a km away from the Mysore Zoo and abt 8 kms away from Chamundi Hills peak. A very well maintained resort. Service is a little slow though.
