Vihangama is just Drop-dead gorgeous. Beautiful Arecanut Plantation around, Tall bamboos, Rock garden and most importantly Tunga river flowing next to it adds some more beauty to the place. Boat ride to mystery cave and Evening Camp fire with light music was just amazing. Enjoyed the typical malnad foods.
Cottages are very clean, hygienic and well designed with all the basic amenities. This Place is very well maintained. Hats off to the management people. I'll forever cherish my stay here.
See you soon, Vihangama....!
Home stay at Thirthahalli – Shimoga
I was time for another long drive and we decided to drive to totally different place this time.
We decided on the route like this Trivnandrum-payyannur-mangalore- kudajatri-kollurt mookambika temole – theerthahalli (stay)- jogfalls- honawar-gokarnam-karwar and back to tvm.
At theerthahalli we stayed at Bananki Home stay. One of the best home-stays we ever had.
Bananki is surrounded by lots of trees and a lovely garden. The Bananki homestay is run by Rachan and Arpita one young , energetic, enthusiastic couple. The stay with them was like staying in our own home as joined family. Rachan’s parents also help them to run the home. The stay was excellent and for the food there is no words to say. Everyday the breakfast, lunch and dinner they served was exotic and it was very difficult to control ourselves from overeating.
Bananki offered us an array of homely, traditional food which we have never tasted before. We had a fantastic stay and it was worth every penny we spent there.
What is a homestay..? I would say it is home away from home. That is what we have experienced here. We would love to go back there and stay again with all of them
Bananki Home stay - To experience Nature’s Bounty and receive true Malnad hospitality, To feel the exciting beauty of the hills, rivulets, the evergreen forests or to simply relax and fill your lungs with oxygen. The lush green countryside around is the place to be for recharging the mind and the body. Bananki Home stay is far from the madding crowd, yet it is so easy to arrive here.
Wonderful place surrounded by greenery. But they need to learn about professionalism. We found a DEAD LIZARD in our curry. When we pointed it out to the manager, he simply asked us to FORGET IT and continue eating something else. We did not even get an apology, forget not being charged for the meal.
