Maison Casero, Fort Kochi: Wonderful Homestay
Staying at Maison Casero gave me and Keith a real understanding of everyday life in Kerala. This lovely home is well located in a quiet street in the residencial area in the heart of Fort Kochi. It's an easy short walk to the promenade and the chinese fishing nets. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony surrounded by tropical trees, and was nice seeing the children walking by on their way to school and hearing the calls of the fish sellers, etc. as they rode their bikes along the narrow streets. Breakfasts were a real treat.. and a super introduction to keralan home-cooked food and all delicious. Jaison and Priya and girls are such proud and loving and friendly people and made our trip very memorable. We were humbled and honoured to be guests at Tereena and Pramod's wedding. We had the most wonderful day .. and send our warmest congratulations and wish Tereena and Pramod a long and happy life together.

Spice Garden Homestay, Wayanad: "Good Service and personal Touch" - Wayanad Trip
Spice garden Homestay at Wayanad Dt., Kerala was recommended to us by a close friend who had really liked the place. For us, it was a first time that we were planning for a home stay. My stay at the Spice Garden Homestay was one to remember. The owners made us feel right at home and made sure that we had everything we needed. The natural beauty of Wayanad with the affectionate and caring hospitality of Mr. Santhosh and his team deserves a true accolade. If I return to Waynad, I would certainly want to stay here again. And also recommend this beautiful home to all my friends

Jasmine Palace, Kovalam: Good.clean and friendly
We booked the Jasmine for 3 nights as we were not sure of our itinary, after the 3 nights we went to another resort 60 miles away for 4 days, on our return to Kovalam we decided to check into the Jasmine again as it had been clean, friendly and relatively cheap. The hotel had a swimming pool and a restuarant, 1or 2 evenings a week entertainment was put on for a small fee and dinner included. I would definately reccomend the Jasmine and it has a good name locally. The staff were nice and helpfull even when we arrived at 5am in the morning nothing was a problem.
Unique Quality: The pool was a treat, although the hotel is near the beach On the first day and in between for relaxing with a book was enjoyed. Also the on site restuarant was good and was handy for breakfast.

Cherai Beach Resort: Cherai Beach Resort-
Its a peaceful little place, so not too touristy. Its got a beach which is almost a private beach. In the evenings you may have locals taking a walk or sometimes has a local fare etc. Beach is quite clean. Service in the resort is a little slow, so don't wait till you get really hungry to go the restaurant. You can get rooms/cottages facing the backwater but may have to do prior booking. The place also has an auyrvedic massage center which is pretty okay if you dont mind the oily massages.
Unique Quality: This place has some cottages that have a bathroom extending into the backwater. Which means you can take a dip into the backwater, but its not that clean so ....
