The Presidency is a large, modern and comfortable hotel. The rooms aren't too exciting, but then that's to be expected in this size of hotel. All the amenities you might expect (minibar, TV with international channels) are here, even a bath which was the first I'd seen in Kerala and a bit of a treat!
The staff are extremely helpful and professional; their attention was one of the nicest things about staying in this hotel, and they always seem only too pleased to assist.
There is a good choice of international food at the hotel's restaurant, but I'd steer clear of Western dishes (I had the most depressing fish and chips I've ever eaten here) and go for Indian cuisine. There is a nice selection of northern Indian dishes and a curry buffet option which is very popular. The curry is very decent.
The hotel boasts a pool on the roof, and you can also eat up there for views of the city.
The location is fairly central for getting everywhere you need to go, but visitors should be aware that rooms on one side of the hotel are close to a mosque which will give you an early wake up call.
