More about Sajhome

The extra mile

by TripAdvisor Member Dropszi-Junior

We stayed with Saj twice in Jan '08, and it was very good on both occasions. The accommodation is basic but clean, with spacious rooms and clean and modern bathrooms, and the price was at the lower end of reasonable (we stayed in places just as clean but cheaper, and places more expensive with worse accommodation!). What sets Saj Homestay apart however was Saj himself. He is not only a wonderfully kind and welcoming host, but he will go that extra mile to help you enjoy your stay in Kochi and your trip once you leave. We can't compare the accommodation against other hotels/homestays in Kochi, but it stacks up very well against other accomodation we stayed in in India. The ATM below the homestay is also handy!

A great pick of homestay in fot Kuchin

by TripAdvisor Member henrikandlouise

Saj Homestay made the begining of our trip around India to a pleasent start even though we lost our luggage on the flight to India.

Saj Homestay has been more helpfull then expected and made sure our stay in Fort kochin was not one we easily forget. they made sure we got our luggange from the airport the following days, they made sure we got around to see everything and the best of all, they served nice breakfaste in their very clean rooms and made sure we got on with our travelling with out problemes they helped us out with a taxi to get to our next point and we seriously could not have asked for more.

We would recommend anybody looking for a place to stay in fort kochin to try Saj Homestay and we are sure nobody will regret.

If you are in doubt of anything or just need some information or anything else Saj homestay is the place to stay because they will for sure help you out and will not try to cheat you, like many others could find their way to do.

Best of luck for anybody going there enjoy we sure did.

SAJHOME...Friendly, Clean and Affordable

by TripAdvisor Member smsPA

We were very pleased with the accomodations and great service at the Sajhome in Fort Cochin! We booked after all the recommendations we saw on the trip advisor website. The people were great, both the staff and other travelers we met. Saj communicated very promptly with us over the internet. He had a driver meet us at the airport and served us the best pineapple juice ever upon arrival! Saj is full of energy and helped us plan our whole week in Kerala with backwater excursions, trips to Munnar, Periyar, and Allepey. The homestay is in a great location being only a short walk from the town, which we loved. Would definately recommend Sajhome for a personal touch that is easy on the budget.

Fabulous place to stay in Fort Cochin

by TripAdvisor Member Ouseboy

This was a fabulous place to stay. Saj and his staff were very welcoming and friendly. They have a great knowledge of the local areas and helped out with places to go, tourist attractions and forward travel plans. We booked several trips through Saj and the prices were very competitive compared to the tourist desks in town.

Our accommodation was very comfortable. The room was spacious with cupboards for storage and even a mirror. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. All the windows have mosquito screens on them and the ceiling fan was new and quiet. We were there late January and didn’t require the AC. All in all the room standard far exceeded many of the other places we stayed for a similar price. We had a private balcony where breakfast was served. The food was very fresh and delivered hot.

The laundry service was great. All items arrived back in good order and pressed within the day.

The guest house is located an easy walk to the sea and other attractions of Fort Cochin.

We booked for three days and stayed for eight days. Sajhome is an outstanding budget guesthouse with wonderful helpful staff. We would highly recommend this place to other travellers.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

by TripAdvisor Member OTTAWA613

Great place, Just what we needed. Food and service was Good, Saj was very nice. Do not go on the 7 hour backwater tour, it is way too long! Cherai beach has a private place to go that is beautiful, you just rent a chair for the day and you will be at peace!

Highly Recommended

Oh yeah, almost forgot... The massage is quite an experience... You are completely naked and get rubbed- HARD from head to toe...

Great budget option in a fantastic location

by TripAdvisor Member KJFa

Saj is a friendly, helpful guy as are his colleagues, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend the Keralan breakfast and Saj can orgainse taxis and other activities at no extra cost. Would definitely recommend for the friendly service, great central location and helpful advice! Kate and Stu, London

We loved Saj homestay

by TripAdvisor Member JackandRose

We had read Trip Advisor and then researched on Thorntree (Lonely Planet forum) and found Saj Homestay in Fort Cochin, it sounded like what we were looking for. We arrrived very early in the morning and the previous people from the night before had not checked out yet, so we were pointed in the direction of breakfast. It was a Sunday morning and Saj realized that the restaurant was closed after he sent us. He got on his motor bike and found us to tell us that it was closed! Great service right from the start. We were pleased with our room, it had a great little balcony and the nicest and cleanest bathroom that we have experienced in India! We ended up staying 7 nights, we liked it so much. So much better than a hotel, more intimate and homey. Saj and Baiju helped us with everything while we wre there, taxis to Cherai Beach, Ernakulem, to Munnar, booked our dance tickets and booked us a 24 hour backwater cruise which was fabulous!! The breakfasts are yummy, continental with eggs and the Kerala breakfast that Saj's wife whips up were served to us on our little private balcony. Couldn't ask for more!
If I could live anywhere in India, this would be it, Fort Cochin...
Thank you Saj and thank you Baiju for everything, we won't forget you

Saj Homestay is good

by TripAdvisor Member jetplaner26

It has been great at Saj's homestay. I got his contact from Tripadvisor and contacted Saj through email directly. The response was almost instantaneous, followed up by a greeting call from Saj. My trip has been delayed due to visa problem. I translated this problem to Saj and he was happy to propose further arrangements upon further notifications. Finally, i was greeted the friendly driver from Saj's homestay, Shamuel, at Kochin airport in wee hours 4am in the morning (after more than 5 hours of flight delay from Singapore). I have a good balcony which comes useful during breakfast time. As i am usually out in the day, i did not quite make full potential of the balcony. However, the 150 years old mango tree (belong to the neighbour) that stages front of the balcony is unforgettable.

Rooms are fairly clean and comfortable. Heat is an issue for me. If i have more budget, i would have opt for an air-conditioned room at that time of the season. Nevertheless, the lovely Keralan home-made breakfast they have to offer with changing menu every now and then, you can't beat that.

Saj's homestay is capable of arranging trips for people who has a tight schedule in Kochin. An escapade from heat to Munnar where the Cardamom hills are is the most natural thing to do. If budget allows, a driver is recommended, with no hassles and rush hours.

I have a lovely time with the people at Saj's homestay and family. And i do recommend this place for singles, couples, families and travellers who seek importance on lodging security as priority.

Great Place to Stay

by TripAdvisor Member robnpat

We enjoyed staying here very much, so much so that we extended our stay. The location is very good with all the main attractions within walking distance. it is very modern and spotlessly clean. We booked a trip through Saj and it was cheaper than booking anywhere else. Safety is not an issue as it is acually above the family home and there is an ATM macine at the front of the building with a security guard on duty. I would definately stay here again.

I would definitely recommend Saj Home
