Good Location
Away from the hustle and bustle of Lighthouse Beach but only a short auto rickshaw ride away. We stayed there in Jan 2005 and found it very acceptable with spacious clean A/C rooms and the service and amenities were excellent. The Hotel then boasted two pools but I understand that has now been increased to three pools together with a new extension block, other facilities include 3 restaurants all serving excellent food, a gym and ayuvedic centre.
We booked with a package holiday from the UK where the price included flights and hotel, in comparison to other lesser rated hotels the overall price was only very slightly more expensive.
The location is great, walk out of the hotel which leads straight out to the small beach where sun beds are supplied and staff usually at hand for drinks and snacks. Would have no hesitation in returning.
Unique Quality: Most of the hotels in Kovalam apart from only a few are set back from the beach behind various buildings, the UDS is almost part of the quiet beach.

Kovalam Hotels
A warm welcome was given on arrival to this 4 star hotel. The hotel boasted two pools, 3 restuarants, gym and ayuvedic centre. All rooms were air conditioned and all had views of the beach and one of the pools. Whilst of the price of the hotel was hidden within a holiday package however 3nights can be obtained for about £28 a night for 2 persons including breakfast and dinner according their website.

Extremly good service and adventourous restuarants. Hotel staff are present on the beach to take drinks orders and adjust positioning of their sunbeds which they supply for their guests on the beach.
