Flower garlands
by grets
On arrival at the airport in Trivandrum, we were greeted by a Tour East representative, and given a flower garland each. I love these garlands, which seem to be a traditional greeting in many parts of the world. They emitted a beautiful aroma - it is such a shame that you can't retain smells for the future like you can with sight and sound!

This is 50 Km from Trivandrum and is on the way to Ponmudir. The place gets its name from the River Kallar. Kallu means 'stone' and Aru means 'river in Malayalam . This is an ideal place for people with an interest in trekking, angling and bird watching.
The main attractions are the nearby Golden Valley, and the Meenmutti waterfalls. One can bathe in the crystal clear waters.

The waterfall is situated 3-4 kms from the main road. One can see bird life, and many species of butterflies enroute. During the rainy season leeches are found in plenty here.

by ajayzener about Casa Bianca
Just 50 m from the Vazhutacaud Junction is this small restaurant Casa Bianca. This restaurant is a house converted into a cosy little place to eat. I would say this is one of the best places in the town to dine. The menu is mouth watering ..lots of Pizza's, Lasagne... etc The ambience is simple but cosy...the flowers, lights etc adds a touch of elegance too....
Overall one of the best joints...

this place is on the border between kerala and Tamil nadu. Sree Narayana Guru used to meditate here so this is a holy place for his devotees . There is a small ashram in the foothills dedicated to him. From the ashram is a one hour trek to the top. On the way there are a few very small cave temples.
