The hotel has a little building within the grounds which houses a few nice shops including a bookshop which is always a draw card but prices of course are a little on the high side. You can also get some postcards here.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and a little more of the creature comforts, this is your hotel. While some basked in the tranquillity around the hotel pool, I thought it felt a little to quiet and remote for the Adventurer in me. However I later discovered it was only ½ km from the temples.
There is a large swimming pool just off the restaurants terrace with comfortable lounge chairs and a light restaurant and bar service. The Temple Bar is open from 10.00am to midnight. The hotel also has a fully equipped health club and Ayurvedic Massages are also available which I understood were great.
We arrived to a freshly squeezed orange juice while we checked in. The hotel's lobby was clean and spacious in white marble. The service was very helpful and there was no problem changing money at reception although if I remember, I had to wait until a certain time to be able to do it. You can also book additional travel and car hire at reception.
The hotel is on a quiet road away from the temples. All brilliantly white in colour, the hotel is 5 stars and offers 94 rooms all tastefully decorated with small balconies and various views overlooking some part of the gardens. All rooms have a hair dryer, mini bar, telephone, T.V., tea/coffee making facilities and also provide slippers. They also have rooms designed for the physically handicapped. My bed was king size and perhaps a little too firm. Room service is available.
