Well located for station & restaurants

    by

This large place is close to the city's main train station and there are a few restaurants opposite plus a very good one called Tandoor further up the road (see my restaurant tips). There's also an Iway internet place opposite.

The 'resort' features two large blocks named after the famous caves called Ajanta (closer to the road, so nosier, but better rooms) and Ellora (quieter but rooms not quite as good). The staff seemed a bit 'pushy' when I checked in and there were some touts there as well. I had a room in the Ellora block where I had 2 single beds pushed together and a smaller 3rd bed (as it was a family room), 2 armchairs, 1 table, 2 bedside tables, cupboard, large-ish TV, wardrobe, ceiling fan and 24hr hot water via a geyser tank in the bathroom. My large room cost Rs832 (for some reason!).

    Hotel Peshwa

    by

    Hey all,
So i had booked myself in advance at Hotel Peshwa. This is a budget hotel with room rent of Rs.700 for a twin sharing double bed AC room, Rs.150 per head extra. They are conveniently situated on Station Road opposite MTDC Holiday Camp from where the sightseeing buses start. There are also many private taxis available for hire right outside MTDC holiday camp and cover all the same places for a little lower fare than the Taxis booked from within the MTDC Camp.
Hotel Peshwa had cosy rooms with 24 hour water supply and Good hot water in the mornings. They also have an attached restaurant but we didnt eat there. The rooms were clean and well maintained with a small cupboard, dresser and a small balcony with a clothes dryer stand. There was also a TV with cable. Quiet apporpriate for just about an overnight stay, as all days were spent in sight seeing all day long.
Since we arrived at Aurangabad from Mumbai at 12.30 in the night by train (Nandigram Express), we needed a place near to the station as well as close to MTDC, which is the starting point of the tours.
The station road is lined with enough small lodges and budget hotels. The Great Punjab Hotel is bang opposite the staion and Hotel Classic is also opp. Holiday Camp, MTDC.

Unique Quality: Nothing extra ordinary apart from their proximity to the station and MTDC Holiday Camp. Minimum rickshaw fare Rs.10 from the station.
