I cannot recommend the Ascot highly enough. You know how it is - you've just finished a month of arduous travelling, you have a bit of money left-over... why not splash out a bit before you return home?
Which is exactly what we did. 'Splashing out' is all relative, however. For approximately £60 a night, you'll get pretty close to western-style luxury: a walk-in, self-lighting wardrobe, king size bed with lots of pillows, glass desk, full-length mirror, flat-screen tv with DVD player, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities (!), comfy chairs, huge bathroom with power shower and stand-alone bath, and best of all - room service. Needless to say, we made the most of all the aforementioned.
Comparted to other hotels of similar price, you really can't go wrong.
Unique Quality: Incredible value for money, and you can make your own cup of tea. Fantastic.
Directions: Located on Garden Road, which turns left if you're heading down the Causeway
Naturally the reservation of superior room was not in their "system" and reception tried to offer standard room in place, even the payment was made to more expensive room. After long negotiations the price was compensated -some could suggest that this is a standard practise in this hotel to get more profit.
Hotel seems to be popular by westerners and especially by saudi guests with their wives.
The room was in good shape and air con worked perfectly. The rooms are spacious.
The constant traffic from Colaba causeway did not disturb at 4th floor.
Unique Quality: Just next to the shopping street and market.
