I have not personally stayed here but most VTer's who I've met in Mumbai have stayed here!!! So it must be a nice place!!! I have seen the rooms and the place is quite good for the price and the surroundings as well as the location in the heart of the CBD (Central Business District) of Mumbai at Fort with all the major attractions also very close by. The CST (Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus) Railway Terminus and Churchgate railway station are also within walking distance from the hotel!!!
Unique Quality: Single Rooms from Rs1400 to Rs1500 and Double Rooms from Rs1500 to Rs1650 plus tax of 10%. Extra person in room at Rs120 plus 10% tax. All rooms are airconditioned. Tea & coffee machine and a small safe in all rooms. Breakfast not included but can be ordered for about Rs75 and lunch or dinner for about Rs150. Free internet facilities for checking your email or Rs30 for 30 minutes of surfing!!!
Directions: Opposite Citibank and Khadi Bhandar. On the main road (DN Road) from CST to Fort.
After disappointment from the previous hotel where I've stayed 3 hours only but paid the full night stay, I transferred to Residency Hotel which is juz beside the previous hotel.
This one is a jewel among the budget lot. I paid INR 1,700++ or about $40 per night for the single. Although the old man at the reception on my check-in that night seems to be less-friendly, nevertheless, he's not rude (comes maybe with being a bit on the middle-crisis situation.. LOL!). Yet, the room was a relief after having experienced other budget hotels in India, this one is really comforting. The lobby was clean and well litted, the restaurant is located stairs down the lobby.
ROOM - was smallish but very functional and clean, nice soft bed complete with white comforter (not itchy blanket), 2 clean white pillows with 2 additional throw pillows, TV with english channels though I cannot find the Star movies, mirrors all around, BATHROOM/TOILET are clean, have showers only but both cold & hot, clean towels, with soaps & shampoos, even a moisturizer. The room even have a coffee/tea making facility with tea-all-you-can drink supply. Marble flooring but it's clean and whitish. IDD Telephone, room service available.
Friendly STAFF, especially those people making the bed in the morning.
Unique Quality: Clean, functional rooms & friendly service staff.
Highly Recommended!
Directions: CST (Central Railway Station or VT) is a walking distance away along the same road, McDonalds too which is almost in front of VT is near just about a 7 to 10 minutes walk depends on the crowd.
