It is a reasonable price hotel in the centre of mumbai. It is located right behind Taj Mahal hotel which is next to the Gateway of India and walking distance to all central sights.
I stayed there for a superior room. Although the rack price was Rs3,650 (incl all taxes) if you booked direct with them, I got 15% discount on the room with net price Rs3,130 (Jun 2009). The price includes simple buffet breakfast. The room is comfortable for that price in Mumbai.
I visited Chateau Windsor, Seaview hotel to check out the rooms. The price for comparable rooms are actually more expensive then this Hotel Diplomat. Chateau Windsor is located on the top 2 floors of a 5-storey building sharting with offices in the lower storeys. I found the rooms are small and it looks more like a guest houses. Seagreen hotel itself is a bit run down. For the prices (incl taxes), I think Hotel Diplomat has much more value.
Anyone know anything about this hotel? any others nearby that are better for same or less price? thank you johnny
