Bandra - the convenient alternative
We stayed in January 2007 for a few days in Mumbai. Again we booked the Executive Enclave because we have been pleased with this hotel many times before. The service is very friendly and professional. The room rates are reasonable and the breakfast complimentary.
Bandra is about halfway between the airport and Colaba and a good spot to be able to explore this super-metropolis. I should also mention that Mumbai has upgraded itself in the past years and is not anymore the beggers' paradise it used to be. We will be back for sure!
Unique Quality: The rooms are beautiful, clean and in tip top condition. The bathrooms too have all the facilities you need. The mini bar is filled with goodies at quite regular prices.
Another highlight is the Indian cuisine. The food is delicious and can be ordered in the small restaurant or by room service (24 hours).

BIGGEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!
Unique Quality: An excellent clean hotel (3 stars)- fairly priced at Rs 3000 (approx.65 USD) for a double deluxe (2 or even 3 people) room (with A/C) per nite -includes taxes, airport transfers and breakfast.
There are other hotels which are a lot cheaper. Accomodation is plenty- depends on what kind you are looking for.
