Company in Mumbai

by vinklspinkl

Hi I'll be staying four days in Mumbai, and is looking for some company. I'm 29, norwegian tourist - on my way home from Bangalore. Anything of interest - just want to hang out and see the city :) I'll be there from July 27th - 31st.

On a Sunday morning we decided to go to this small hill station Jawhar, which is around four and half hours away from Bombay by road. This is a small town with friendly people and the best place to buy the vibrant and earthy Warli Paintings painted by the tribals of the region.

by tarush

Go for walks.. There are many wonderful places to take nice walks in Bombay where you will be find so many others walking side by side with you. I particularly liked walking down the Queen's Necklace to Nariman Point, which is the far end and back. I would sit by the sea once I got there and watch the sun set as I sipped on some fresh coconut water which is abundantly available all over the place. The reason this drive is called the Queen's Necklace is because it was designed to look like a necklace from above at night.

Mumbai's Climate

by keeweechic

The climate in Mumbai is mostly made up of two seasons. Humid (between March to October) and dry (between November to February). The monsoon time is usually between June and September when most of they incur most of the cities rainfall. Annual temperatures range from a high of 38C (100F) to a low of 11C (52F). I was there early April and it was definitely hot but not oppressive. I don’t think the humidity had kicked in. If you are not happy with the heat then the best time to visit would be the winter time.

Bandstand

by sr33109

Bandstand in Bandra is a great place to visit. Great views of the Arabian Sea are abundant. Barista and Cafe Coffee Day are both great places to grab a coffee or cold drink before a strole down Bandstand. It is most busy at night and is a relaxing place to sit or walk and take great pictures. Just a short distance from Hill road.

Inside the Caves

by keeweechic

The roof of the cave or temple is supported by 20 large pillars which appear to be holding up the roof. This was deliberately carved out in this fashion. The temple plan is symmetrical and has important focal points. Near the doorways there are panels which celebrate Shiva’s accomplishments. One story tells of Shiva bringing the Ganges River down to Earth.
