Hi My dear friend Nitin is right but i have recently heard the government run BSNL has also started the data card service. The cost of the initial card or hardware is around three thousands five hundred & at the monthly charges of six hundred, you can surf for unlimited time. BSNL has also got the coverage in the remote areas.

Travel Tips for Mumbai

Bombay - My Hovel'N'Highrise Home Town

by wrldtravler

Bombay's beaches are very special for me. I grew up on the beaches of Juhu and Versova and will always carry the fondest memories of them with me. They line the Arabian Sea (Indian Ocean), the sand is soft though itchy, the breeze is cool though noisy, the beach is long though crowded, this is Bombay in it's element. The Cool Monsoon Breeze.

Population

by keeweechic

Mumbai has an estimated population of around 13 million people and while there is a large variety of languages spoke in the city the most common language spoken on the city streets is Bambaiya Hindi – a blend of Hindi, Marathi and Indian English. Marathai is actually the official language of the state (Maharashtra). While visiting however, you probably will find that English is fairly extensively spoken especially in business. There is a mixed bag of religions also in the city with 68% Hindus, 17% Muslims, 4% Christians and Buddhist and the rest are Jains, Jews, Parsis, Sikhs and atheists.

by o00o

Over the years, these great fires, as well as others were moved to various places or co-joined with one another and it is impossible to trace their whereabouts through the centuries. Most of the fire-temples were destroyed through successive conquests of Iran by Arabs, Turks and Mongols.

Cricket on the Oval

by Willettsworld

The main cricket stadium, the Wankhede Stadium, is located near the Oval Maidan and you can watch the wannabies play here as they try and aspire to their national cricket team heroes . I watched a game for quite some time as it was entertaining but there's no seats here for you to sit on! You can also take in a game along Marine Drive at one of the Gymkhanas.

Palanquin Ride

by keeweechic

For a few dollars you can have yourself carried in a Palanquin (sedan chair) up the steep stone staircase that leads to the entrance of the caves… or you can do as most, and walk it yourself, often stopping to catch your breath. No I didn't try it. It would have been fun, if not a little hair-raising, but I just couldn't do it. It seemed that no one else was brave enough or less self-concious to try it either when I was there.
