The Leela is another great...
The Leela is another great hotel, again equally good, but doesn't have a view of the sea, like the first two. However, this is very close to the airport, unlike the Taj and the Oberoi and is surrounded by lush gardens and vegetation.

The President is another Taj...
The President is another Taj property, a step down from the world famous Taj Mahal. This hotel is well known for it's restaurants, particularily the Trattoria... It is a full service luxury property..
A fine business hotel offering personalized, crisp and warm service. Although it is located near the city's main business district and close to entertainment, recreational and shopping centres, the hotel has an aura of peace and tranquility about it. The Taj President offers spectacular views of the harbour and the city.

Apollo Guesthouse
I found this place wandering around Colaba street, in the southern part of Mumbai. I had spent an awful night in a rats nest located in a dirty alley, so I was looking for a clean medium place to have a hot shower and forget last night's nightmare.
I visited a few places around and finally chose this. A medium range guest house in Colaba, the southern quartier of Mumbai, very close to Colaba Causeway. Nice clean AC rooms toilet incl. for 1000 Rs. (22 USD)

While in Bombay, we stayed in...
While in Bombay, we stayed in two establishments: The Bombay Presidency Radio Club, a private club with a few hotel rooms, where our friend's uncle was a member. This was just down the seawall from the Gateway to India, so it was in a prime spot. The other place we stayed, during the wedding, at the end of the trip, was the Sun 'n' Sands in Juhu beach. It was fine -- very continental, but didn't speak to the Indian culture. I believe that Swiss Air flight crews spend their layovers there.
Unique Quality: Bombay Presidency Radio Club, apart from its name, was just in a great location. It was incredibly cheap ($12/night), had its own bathroom (toilet paper too), and definitely had the feel of India to it. Close to many great places on foot.

Though Hotel Rajmahal is...
Though Hotel Rajmahal is conveniently located, a little away from there is Hotel Pushpanjali, which we are told is just two months old and the a crew from BBC were put up there when they were at Jawhar to shoot the tribal life there.
The rooms are neat and clean and they range in Rs.200 to Rs.250 and since it is a new hotel the owner is ready for bargaining too.But it does not have any restaurant.

hard life for little budgets
2 choices :or a ******* hotel like the taj mahal, the oldest hotel in bombay, where you will pay 1000 dollars a night,it will be wonderful;or a normal hotel, full with rats and giant-insects of all kinds, and do not forget you will have to fight armies of mosquitoes
