The BEST Hotel in Juhu

Update 2/12: I got another super deal (pre-paid on the Novotel site) and was happy to return to the Novotel. This time was not the great experience we had the first time. One of our neighbors must have had jet lag for several nights because his/her TV was playing through our walls at all hours. The breakfast buffet was especially crowded - barely enough seating for the guests - food was slow to be replenished - and one morning it took 20 minutes to get a first cup of coffee. Minor details that we tried not to let aggravate us. Front desk service is still excellent. Would still book the Novotel - it's the best deal in Juhu!

We'd stayed in 3 different hotels on Juhu Beach during our times in Mumbai. We'd only eaten in the Novotel previously. When booking for our recent trip, I was quite surprised to see the high prices for our "regular" hotel. When I checked the Novotel, they were offering a deal for pre-paying, which was 50-75% off the other rates so I booked a king room.

A few years ago, this was an old Holiday Inn. It has been completely renovated and is a super hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and fairly spacious - king bed, flat screen TV, chair and ottoman, work desk & chair, safe, refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, and a view of Juhu Beach. The bathroom had a wonderful rain shower, good space, and nice toiletries.

The lobby is open and spacious - and very understated - plenty of chairs and couches, a fountain, and big flowers. There are 2 computers for (free) use. (Internet room packages are available - more time = less per hour.) The staff are excellent - very attentive. Food is excellent - several different restaurants/cuisines and huge buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pool area is really nice - with plenty of palm trees, a view of the Arabian Sea and lots of lounge chairs. Small sofas separate the pool area and the bar - which is a great place for drinks at night.

This hotel is by far the best hotel in Juhu (yes, it is even better than the favorite, JW Marriott - and a fraction of the cost!). This will be the only place I stay on return trips to Mumbai.

By the way, the deal I booked was $122 without breakfast. I recently checked additional dates and it was $143 with breakfast (for two) - a super deal!! (Huge breakfast buffet cost about $30 for two.)

Novotel Mumbai

Novotel Juhu Beach is a 5 star hotel with 203 modern rooms and all facilities. The swimmingpool and the pool area is lovely. A club lounge is located on the 7th floor and the main dining room is in the ground floor. The quality of the meals are first class. The outlook from the hotel window is the famous Juhu Beach.
This hotel is expensive, with a rate of more than 150 USD for the cheapest room. Normally I rather like to stay in a cheaper hotel or guesthouse. But this place make me feel calm. I recommend the hotel to those who can afford it.
Novotel is a part of the Accor's chain.

Unique Quality: The distance to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is 9 km, to Santacruz Domestic Airport is 6 km and to Andheri Railway Station is 5 km.

Brilliant Getaway

by TripAdvisor Member figgyboy

The novotel was an instant choice because of its accessibility, price and the fact that it had a decent sized swimming pool.
We were definitely not dissapointed. When we first entered, it did give us a feel of being a business hotel - the decor, the small room format etc, but in terms of comfort - it made a lovely city getaway for us.

Some of the really nice features of the room included a rainshower, the complimentary tea and coffee and the nice beds to just sink in and sleep.

The buffet breakfast was great, the swimming pool was fun. We really did not have the time to check out the other restos.

We came away feeling really rested and will definitely recommend this place to friends who are visiting the city and looking for a 5 star experience at 4 star prices

Good, but can be better

by TripAdvisor Member NMA28

The hotel is quite good but there is scope of improvement. The first area of improvment is the food. One more area can be the the pool area, it needs to be more clean
The food in other 4/5 stars in mumbai is much better. The rooms and service are above average. The champagne room for events is decent enough. The rooms have good view of the beach. Just the name has changed from holiday inn to novotel, everything else is the same

Amazing food quality

by TripAdvisor Member cool23

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Services were on time and people were very active. Regular room cleaning was done in time. The reception department was very helpful. Food was amazing. Restaurant interior decor was beautiful. Locality of the hotel was excellent. Only drawback is the hotel is little expensive.

Loved the location

by TripAdvisor Member shahid_khan2k1

This is a great value-for-money hotel. The staff is very nice, and the location is superb. The rooms are very nicely done up, considering that other hotels in the same area have exorbitent prices and usually do not have good enough rooms.

Still under construction partly, so spa etc were not available, but if you live in Mumbai, this is a very nice retreat for a day or two.

Excellent Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member BhajanLondon

Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks during December 09. Very friendly staff.
Rooms are modern and cleaned daily .
The Gym and swimming pool facilities are excellent. The staff are helpful and they provided advise when needed.
Hotel meals were good but overall breakfeast and lunch/dinner buffet to expensive.
Nearby Juhu restaurants We would recommend - Mahesh for Seafood; Pene for Italian.

ok but service very slow

by TripAdvisor Member currypata

ok hotel .stayed here on new years eve...have to say staff are very slow.took literally 1 hour and 7 calls for them to bring extra bedding for our baby and children ...not acceptable in my view...also very dusty under the bed etc...also swimming pool attendants asked 3 times whether we were staying in hotel which was a bit off putting...i dont look like a tramp, believe me !...good points were room and breakfast...premier lounge is good as well ....

This hotel should be in the Top 5

by TripAdvisor Member push99

Needed a clean, reasonably priced (I'm not on an expense account), central place to stay to serve as a base whilst seeing relatives in Mumbai. I struck lucky with the Novotel.

Its on Juhu beach just past the Marriot and Tulip (of Slumdog fame) and there is good security all round the perimeter. Lovely location for sunset walks on the sand, but swim in the pool not the sea! There is some good shopping a rickshaw ride away - Bhandra, Santa Cuz, InOrbit of Malad, and ofcourse the boutiques in Juhu.

We got two large connecting rooms for 1.5x cost of a double (total about £120 per night) which is very reasonable considering the quality of this hotel. If you want to pay business rates try the Four Seasons, Taj, Oberoi, Marriot etc but all they offer a family is an offer to stick more mattresses down for the kids in the same room or pay exorbitant rates for two rooms. Rooms are clean and of a high standard on par with any European 5 star with safe, minibar, iron, flatscreen TV, rainforest shower, kettle..

Good restaurants. Do try the outdoor grill, we had a lovely tandoori chicken. Didn't try the others except the main one at breakfast which was a wide ranging buffet with poor table service.

There is acomplimentary 20 minute use of the internet on the lobby computers but unfortunately you have to pay for the in room access.

There are plenty of ac taxis stationed outside with a return trip to Flora Fountain costing 1200Rs. (The driver waited for an additional 200).

We were going to stay for 3 days and then check out the Taj near Gateway, but in the end extended our stay and spent all of our Mumbai portion at the Novotel.

Its a 5 Star hotel at 4 Star prices. Will stay here when I return in 2 years. It will either have become run down and tired due to lack of maintenance or they will have hiked their prices up. Catch it while you can!

lovely hotel,shame about the aircon

by TripAdvisor Member nikkyBritInHolland

After a long journey on the train from goa we arrived at the novotel at 7 o clock in the morning ,we had to wait until 8.30 to be let into the room with no extra charge .the hotel had one of those air con systems that you cant change yourself, its supposed to be the same temperature throughout hotel but the rooms on our side of the hotel had the sun on it all day and it was boiling hot we asked the staff if there was anything they could do they said no as all the rooms on the other side were full.i have to say that the staff were really unhelpful.we were given a complimentary meal at the hotels italian restaurant after a sleepless night due to the hot room,it was average to say the least, there were no italian herbs on the pizza or pasta and as there is only one place to eat and drink close by its pretty much the only option.the hotel itself though is lovely right on the beach with a nice swimming pool and sunbathing area
