The hotel has recently undergone extensive renovation. There are several types of room with the nicest being the sea facing rooms. (Only the sea facing rooms on the 4th floor currently have a bathtub.) All rooms have amenities including minibar, safe, all bathroom amenities, fresh fruit, bottled water, a cookie jar of cookies, newspaper daily. Internet access is available, but costly. The executive rooms have a separate sitting area with a couch and flat screen TV, and a large bathroom with separate tub and shower. The sea view from the executive rooms is only a partial sea view. All rooms have very comfortable beds and room darkening curtains, so you better set your alarm if you have an early appointment!
There is a 24 hour coffee shop, a Kebab hut outside by the pool, a nice bar, a more formal restaurant, and drink and snack service poolside. Also onsite is an excellent hair salon, fitness center overlooking the pool and beach, business center, and spa.
The hotel has changed considerably in 5 years - especially the prices - but I don't think it can be considered a 5 star hotel.
Prices can vary according to season so it's a good idea to keep checking. I just recently found an executive room priced at $150 through Travelocity - which I think is at least half the normal price for that room. Normally the sea facing rooms run $300. The standard rooms are about $250 (I think the only difference with those rooms is the view). All rates include round-trip airport transfers, cocktail hour, and a decent buffet breakfast. The staff are wonderful and enjoying the sunsets over the sea or watching one of the many Indian wedding receptions happening is really beautiful. There's a good chance you'll spot a Bollywood celebrity or two.
