luxurious accomodation
by uglyscot
This was one of my favourite of the Taj Hotels we stayed at. We had a deluxe suite. The decor was modern but tasteful. The colours were pale natural tones and very soothing. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had no complaints whatsoever.
There was a welcome gift of a chocolate cake, in addition to the fruit. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water are provided.
Unique Quality: The restaurants are nice both by day and night. The view from our 16th floor window showed us part of the bay, and great view in general.
The bathroom was particularly impressive as it had non-slip floors of some sandstone textured flooring.

No shredder in a business hotel?!
by Tijavi
I was expecting that a business hotel should at least have one working shredder. But this one did not have. The good thing about it was that the staff was kind enough to offer me two options: (1) to refer me to their sister hotel, Taj Mahal, some 10 mins from my hotel; and (2) for the staff to manually shred the extra files himself. While the first option sounded a bit inconvenient, having to carry loads of paper to Taj Mahal, the second option provided a much needed comic relief after a long day of meetings.
To finish the story, I offered myself a third option - shred the paper myself, manually, in the comfort of my room :-)
Unique Quality: Staff's offer to manually shred the document himself was a comical shot at guest service, to say the least.
Directions: In south Mumbai, near Colaba shopping area

Bombay is an expensive place...
by karma_kola
Bombay is an expensive place but has some nice hotels. I don't have a lot of info about hotels. I am sure that can be gathered from the Net. My recommendation is that of you have a friend living in Bombay stay with them. Its more fun:). of course if you are travelling on business, well you can stay at the Taj, President, Oberoi or Sea Princess at Juhu etc.

by delon
There are numerous hotels from the very cheap ones (with least facilities) to the most expensive ones (that will take care of every need). Some of the top hotels in Bombay:
The Oberoi, The TajMahal Hotel, The Taj President, Holiday Inn, The Leela, The Regent Group of Hotels & The Ambassador.
Directions: There are many Hotels very close to the Bombay Intl Airport, while some very good ones can be found towards the town side of Bomaby. (Check the Taj Hotel in the pic next to the Gateway of India)

The President is another Taj...
by tarush
The President is another Taj property, a step down from the world famous Taj Mahal. This hotel is well known for it's restaurants, particularily the Trattoria... It is a full service luxury property..
A fine business hotel offering personalized, crisp and warm service. Although it is located near the city's main business district and close to entertainment, recreational and shopping centres, the hotel has an aura of peace and tranquility about it. The Taj President offers spectacular views of the harbour and the city.

Sundays... quiet everywhere ?
by hongkong&beyond
Arriving in Mumbai on Sunday. Will be having dinner with banking clients but keen to hit something afterwards. On Sundays, is there any point in looking for fun in Colaba/Mumbai? What about the clubs? Or is everything shuttered up ? PlanetParty - is your club still kicking it on Sundays ?
