No matter wherever you are in India always drink from Bottles unless you want to get ill.

I second earthflyer on this one. Always drink bottled water in India, and no icecubes and yes brush your teeth in bottled water as well.

That being said, understand that although we drink tap water in the US, people from other countries can get sick from our water here. The Indian people drink their own water, but their system is used to it. Yours is not. I have been all over India several times as a tour director, and everytime someone on my tours got sick, I could trace it to the local water.

Be safe and enjoy this magnificent country. Having to drink bottled water is a small price to pay.

I am going to the North of India beginning July and very afraid to get sick because of the bad hygiene. Of course I will only drink water from sealed bottles and will even brush my teeth with it, but how safe is it to drink tea or coffee in a hotel or in a restaurant?

From my own experience I always drink from bottled water including doing my teeth but I have drank small glasses of milk tea on the streets. But how safe is it well I never got sick over it. They use powered milk and boil it with water but where that comes from proberly is not from bottled water.

I would defiantly not recommend you using tap water anywhere in India. but I would recommend trying the small glases on the street. You will see them everywhere and it is a nice but very sweet drink in the morning or evening when the temps are cool. You will eventually get fed up with water and want something different, There is plenty of coke and pepsi but personally nothing beats a small glass of tea.

If you are not sure if it is good just hang around and what how they make a small glass of tea, but is defiantly boiled.

The best tea I had in India have been on the street and it's very cheap 2rs per glass.

Travel Tips for Pune

a visit to Sicilia.

by tranceperent about Sicilia

The restaurant is a fine Italian dining place and I’m tempted to add ‘the finest’ one. Italian cuisine is not new to Pune. I am not going to count pizzas at the fast-food chain style outlets as Italian, these are more American than Italian anyway! There are places like Dario’s, Little Italy and La Pizzeria that offer authentic Italian fare but with a rider. They all offer only vegetarian fare and so if you want to eat Sicilian style fish or beef you must make a visit to Sicilia. everything in veggie
