Lovely Ambience and Food
by TripAdvisor Member PRSingh
Hi,
We have supposed to host Client Party in Sun n Sand Pune about which i need to definitely appreciate.
In particular the ambience was super not to mention the food.
Ambience was completely private affair without any interference of others in other blocks / rooms. Desserts were a iceing on the cake for a memorable party...
Regards,
Pushpraj.
Good Business Hotel
by TripAdvisor Member pattabhiramarao
I've stayed at the Sun n Sand, Pune several times over the last few years.
Whilst it's not the most luxurious hotel in town, it's definitely a good business hotel.
The food is pretty average, but the rooms are clean and well maintained.
The service levels are definitely above average.
I can't say i've used too many other facilities in the hotel.
enjoyable stay

Stayed in Sun'n Sands for three days end of Sep/early Oct. Pleasant and well appointed, clean rooms, good service and good food. They have a lounge in Pune airport where you can relax until they collect your luggage and then take you tothe hotel. While hotel prices are generally always going up, Sun'n Sands is still a somewhat more affordable alternative to the 5-stars in Pune and perfectly fine.

One of the Best Hotels in Pune

When traveling to Pune, your options are limited when finding good hotels. I was hesitant when booking this hotel because it is not a large hotel chain with recognized standards. However, upon arrival, the hotel has the appearance of a 5-star hotel with the fancy entrance and lobby/atrium. The rooms are a different story. They show signs of aging, however they are clean and decent. I booked a standard non-smoking room and it was good except for the odd chemical smell, which I am guessing is a mosquito repellent. The restaurant, Carrots and Celery, serves great food with a wide variety of cuisine (Western, Asian, Indian). Service is excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not willing to pay the high price for Le Meridien. I hear they are building some new chain hotels in 2008/2009 (Marriott, Hyatt, etc.).
A very average hotel

These Indian hotels are so overpriced! Whoever owns this place is making a killing. Sure they have staff everywhere, waiting on you, but for $350 a night I could probably have hired my own Indian butler! The interior of this Hotel is nothing special. It looks like a very average four-star product.
People were nice however, have to give them that.

Traffic noise !!
by TripAdvisor Member athavale_ashu
I stayed there with a foreigner. The ambience of the hotel is good. Though they messed up massively on the conference hall booking. To their credit they managed to cover it up. The property is small but ambience is good.
The major problem was the traffic noise, if you are used toi having a quiet sleep beware
nice hotel with good facilities

I was on an unplanned trip and could not get the booking with my others peer in TAJ and decided to drop in at Sun 'n' Sand. The hotel is excellent and service experienced were class. It was in the middle of city with lots of happening places all around. In the month of Oct whether in Pune is very cool.
Due to busy schedule, We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses fruit pastries etc. Besides Desi (punjabi) food, I enjoyed the continental food very much.
The pool is lovely, not very big but more luxurious. The pool attendants were wonderful, laying out 3 towels per sun lounger, with one rolled up as a head rest.
Overall I would say this is probably a nice hotel to try out.

Do not exchange currency at hotel, rate is too high. Avoid hotel restaurant 'Carrots and Celery', it is very bland and over-priced. There are fees associated with almost all front desk inquiries.

by Moiyedh
Guys, I am looking forward to be in Pune by 22nd July and I havent yet found a place to stay. I am visiting my friends who, all of them, live near Wanwadi. Are there any budget hotels around that place? I am not expecting something great but, at least relatively clean.
Also, if I will be able to reserve over the phone ( not totally required)
Please Help me out. Thank you YA ALL
