    Refurbished Diamond

    by

The Blue Diamond is Pune’s oldest 5 star hotel,it is nearly hidden in the green surroundings of Koregaon Park. The hotel is close to the city’s business district and shopping areas.
Swimming pool, fitness centre, salon, travel desk, car rental, currency exchange, and safe deposit locker, shopping arcade and doctor-on-call are available. Good food in 3 different (oriental /Indian/ western) restaurants.
Service not bad, but doesnt quite live up to the usual Taj-standards

Unique Quality: Nice and functional, refurbished rooms. Position close to business and recreational districts.

    Directions: Near Koregaon-Park

Located in the middle of the upmarket Koregaon Park, which is also home to the business and shopping area of Pune.

Unique Quality: We were booked into a deluxe room, which meant a wall mounted LCD television and DVD player, with a 5 speaker system. Basically a fancier room!

More about Taj Blue Diamond

One of the best hotels in Pune

by TripAdvisor Member slinkyhippo

Stayed here for a few days in Jan. Good location near the centre of Pune. The airport pickup service is good and makes life nice and easy. The rooms are decent size (especially if you can get one on the top floor - I think they might be more expensive) and are well decorated.
I made use of the health spa facilities and had a really good massage (this is naturally and extra cost, but not too pricey), also the hotel car service is good if you need to get to the office without the hassel of sorting out transport elsewhere.

The only minor point is that the bar in the hotel lacks atmosphere

Overall I like the Taj Blue Diamond and will certainly try to get back in
there next time I am in Pune.

OK hotel in Pune

The Taj Blue Diamond has a nice lobby, some good restaurants and a nice pool. Rooms are average, certainly not 5-star. Service is good.

A good choice for business travellers.

Business hotel

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.
Chose it because it was the best value for money hotel in down town Pune with a swimming pool & air-conditioning.
This would appear to be a business hotel, but we (wife, 3 year old son & myself) enjoyed our stay - we were visiting relatives. Swimming pool was very quiet, but clean with a few sunbeds. Fitness suite was quite good as well.
Lovely room, but the view is nothing much. Large flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facility, huge bed, safe in room, clean bath/shower room. Great breakfast in the coffee shop.
Commuted in Pune by rickshaw, which was cheap & exciting!
Hotel arranged for a car from the airport & back, for a charge - approx Rs 600 & 15 minutes each way.
All that you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
We ate out every night & can recommend Mainland China & Sigree (Indian) near Boat Club Road. Avoid the wine as its okay but very pricey compared to the rest of the prices in restaurants approx Rs1200 or £15.

Did not meet my expectations.

The hotel has seen its best days – and the owner seem to have realized this as well. There is currently major construction work on entire floors. Do not expect the workmen to follow standard working hours even electric tools can be heard until 10pm. And the work does not stop on weekends, which is very uncomfortable if you decide to stay in the hotel for some reason. The pool was shut off during the stay and was not reactivated before I left.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the restaurant one of the best I tried in Pune. The gym is not the biggest one, but definitely sufficiently equipped for a serious workout. I also enjoyed the little spa area.

Good Pune hotel

There are two decent hotels in Pune as far as I know: the Taj and the Meridien. I haven't been to the Meridien, so I will not try to compare. What I do know is I had a good stay at the Taj.
They are refurbishing, and yes it can be disruptive, but it is a nice hotel, the service is quite good, the common areas are well decorated, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the food I had was good (I tried room service, twice the chinese, twice the cafeteria).
Business facilities are OK. Staff are very helpful and understand the needs of the business traveller. It is safe and efficient. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Night to remember

by TripAdvisor Member uniquekoshi

Celebrated my New year party over there. It was awsome.
Right from start upto the end it was all filled with splendid magic.
Hospitality, food , drinks, music all were mesmerizing. I can never forget the mouth watering afgani kebabs and the dessert.
I had some wonderful, sparkling moments that day
over there.
All in all worthwhile experience, although bit heavy on pocket but for experiences like these i would always like to shell out more.

Above average business hotel

Stayed two nights at the Taj in Pune with a group. It was our base to visit the mountains-Ghats- east of Mumbai and the city .
Had a standard single room :very spacious ,with windows overlooking the swimming pool. The room and the bathroom ( bath and shower) were very clean and the hotel was quiet although we sejourned in Pune during the week of Dewali. The restaurant was correct without originality but without problems. The service was efficient and everyone very nice.
Would recommend.
