Hotel Akbari: It's No Hotel Akbari
Good hotel. Clean ac, hot water and TV! Has American TV channels along with Indian. OHhh & the fashion channel.
Western toilets!!!!
Our point of reference now is Hotel Akbari.
Nice clean lobby with cold marble floor. Very helpful staff. Laundry service provided. Minding you don't really care if they use fresh water. But who cares it's cleaner & pressed. 24 hour room service! But we were never sure what would arrive for breakfast. It was fun to guess each morning. The suites are a king size bed or two twin beds. Priced around $35. Not sure if that was the tourist price since we had an Indian friend reserve the rooms & say we were relatives.
Decent size with chartreuse carpet. Nice views of the city or mountains. Every morning I stepped out of the windows to smoke a cigarette & have tea. A whole family would watch me from their roof, wave & blow kisses. Indians are curious & very friendly to visitors. Each evening had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Good food and whiskey. Which you may need after traveling all day in 100 degree weather in March. Rooms smell a little musty & dirty but compared to the rest of India it's clean.
Unique Quality: Lot's of weddings during the season. Near internet cafe and markets. Restaurant & bar!
