Taxi or coach service from Amritsar to Nakodar
Next February I'm landing at Amritsar airport at about 2pm and should be out of the airport by about 3-3.30pm. Is there are a taxi service or a bus service directly from the airport to Nakodar, which is about two-and-a-half hours away. Also, is it possible to pre-book these services and how much would I expect to pay? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
There are a couple of options for you. You can take a taxi from the airport to the local Bus Stand (about 15 KMs - Rs. 400) and then onward bus to Nakodar.
The second option is hiring a cab directly from Amritsar Airport to Nakodar. This will be hassle-free option but can work out to be expensive (about Rs. 1500). You can call the local luxury cab service (iCabs) at +91-9888100405

Some must-haves
Light cotton wear in Summers (April to Sept) and Woolens in Winters (Nov-March) Mosquito Repellent (specially in Monsoons - July and August) and keep a stock of toilet paper as you may not find that in some places (actually you'll have to work hard to find it) Torch and an Army Knife
Golden Temple
The Golden Temple is the holiest Temple of the Sikh Religion. Here the founder is burried. Thousands of Sikh come here everyday to worship the sarkophagus in the golden mausoleum in the middle of the temple.
Wagah Border
The sound from the bugles blown together from both sides paints past on the canvas when India and Pakistan were one, simultaneously Flags of the two nations are ceremoniously retrieved and lights are switched on marking the end of the day amidst thunderous applause. Today this point is only land route to approach Pakistan and central Asia.
Golden Temple - At dusk
India has some great sunsets with clear blue skies and so this makes for some great photography moments. I had visited the Golden Temple in the morning and then some other places in the afternoon and headed back to the Golden Temple just in time before the sun disappeared behind the complex wall. The sunset light on the Golden Temple makes it glow and it also makes the marble complex glow a honey coloured orange. It's a good idea to visit it at different times of the day to see it in a different light each time.
