Baggage room is baggage room

When they say it is a baggage room, they really meant a baggage room. We put our baggage here before entering the temple. This is the first thing to do when I come here. So please write it down, a baggage room is for baggage. The next step is....is all in my next tip, please continue to the next tip.
Book to bed
by Willettsworld
According to Lonely Planet, the Sikh's holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib, to which they recite from during the day, is carried from the Golden Temple and put to bed overnight so I hung around to see what happened. At 10pm things started to happen so I quickly got up and rushed over and took a couple of pictures of it being put away in a room in the main causeway gatehouse (Darshani Deorhi). The book is encased in a type of canopy which has a golden roof.
Golden Temple

Arjun, a Sikh guru, raised a temple in the middle of a pool, sanctified its waters and installed the Sikhs' holy scripture, the Granth Sahib, in its inner sanctum. In 1803, the Sikh ruler, Maharaja Ranjit Singh rebuilt the temple in marble and gold. Ever since it has been known as the Golden Temple.
I was amazed by all the people that this place attracts, and it felt very holy. We went in the evening when it was getting dark, it is beautiful then!
When you go make sure your head is covered! And take off your shoes.

Golden Temple - Thara Sahib

Guru Ramdas Sahib, the fourth Guru, used to sit here while supervising the digging of the holy tank. He also gave holy sermons and held congregations by singing holy hymns. The pothis (holy books) containing holy hymns were also kept here after they were brought from the village of Goindwal Sahib in order to edit the Guru Granth Sahib - the Sikh's holy book.
