I with my wife was traveling to Agra & Fatehpur Sikri region. While doing my research at home and through some of my friends , I got to know that it's better to stay at Fatehpur Sikri and visit Taj as the day trip from there. So, I planned and started looking for hotels in Fatehpur Sikri. I came across one highly recommended hotel "Goverdhan Tourist Complex". I stayed there for three nights and visited Tajmahal in Agra and one Bird Sanctuary in nearby city Bharatpur as the day trips. Welcoming at Hotel Goverdhan was very much homely and amazing. Staff was great and helpful always walking in the campus looking after guests staying with them. Room given to us, was nicely decorated and clean. They served us delicious food. Very strong Wi-Fi router for travelers and surprisingly, it was free unlimited (rarely I found Wi-Fi facility in budget or 2 star category hotels in India). I loved the location of the hotel right in the center. Owner's family was very amicable and giving their personalized touch to our stay and probably to many other westerners staying with them. I highly recommend this place to stay to all the travelers and see monuments in agra from there. And yes, Balcony was the most relaxing place after the tiring visits at the monuments.
Strong Wi-Fi and it's Free too, Library, Balcony with views at the monuments, well-kept garden in the center of the hotel, nice restaurant with delicious food ! indeed
I was planning to stay in Agra. But, we decided to stay in Fatehpur Sikri where We stayed in Hotel Goverdhan Tourist Complex. First off, We were regally welcomed. I was thinking that its very usual in India as its an indian tradition. Me and Bob chose 'Monument view classic room' where we had beautiul time seeing Fatehpur sikri fort with Beer in hand from the corridor of the hotel, just in front of the room. Sofas also were placed there to make you sit. An Indian family run hotel treated us nicely and staff working there were coming to us regulerly but not to disturb, to ask us any thing needed. We ourselves cooked food in thier own kitchen and moreover learnt to cook chapati & paratha. I would suggest this hotel to everyone who is willing to stay to get aquainted with Indian Culture AS WE saw temple, kitchen, owner's family staying in compound.
A beautiful look of Fatehpur Sikri's fort from corridor of the hotel where sofas are kept to make you sit. You also can have Beer to enjoy !
Hotel belong to the Govermment of Uttarpradesh and all rooms attched bath nice Garden resturant etc.
There are few accommodations around Fatehpur Sikri. Guristan is a goverment owned hotel a bit away from the heart of the city. With an open garden, Guristan offers a relaxing atmosphere.
Sit outside in courtyard or front garden and watch the starts twinkle in the sky! You can also see some peacocks.
