while in kulu in himachal pradesh you could try river rafting on the river beas......wonderful and not too tough so good experience for first timers... there are many camps being set up along the river beas in the seobagh area of kulu and they provide all the gear.
you just have to carry your enthusiasm with you!!!
in the southern part of India it is quiet popular to use elephants and camels for moving around. Elephants are mostly ment as a tourist attraction, but camels in there are used like horses in northern parts of the country.
Our tour guide took us to this amazing hotel for dinner one evening. WOW!
The place is absolutely stunning. Just as you would expect a Marahajas palace. As we approached the hotel it was lit up with fairy lights and there were tables outside with diners watching traditional Indian dance. We ate inside in the restaurant which was absolutely stunning. The food and service were excellent and we listened to a live band playing indian music. What an experience, all for £30 for two.
Hawa Mahal was build in 1799 and is a spectacular landmark in Jaipur Old City. The name Hawa Mahal means "The Palace of the Winds". The building has a pink-sandstone architecture with 1000 small windows. There are 5 storeys inside without stairs, only a series of ramps.
This large pot is made of silver and weighs 345kg. it was used by one of the maharajas while visiting the UK
The pot was filled with water from the Ganges so that the maharajah would not have to drink foreign water while away
I am not sure if it is true but we were told that it was filled with Scotch whisky for the return journey
Gangajali is the correct name for this type of pot
