Great garden and restaurant

This was my first choice when I arrived in Jaipur from the early morning train from Delhi. I took an auto-rickshaw from the station and when I arrived here it didn't look all that promising from the outside. However, after you walk through reception you're hit by the size of the place. There are rooms in blocks all around a large central garden. I had a non a/c room which was large with a large TV, large doublebed, small bedside table, large mirror, wardrobe, desk, dressing table, 2 large cushion chairs, ceiling fan and a large bathroom with a hotwater shower that took a while to warm up but was piping hot. The guest house has a great restaurant with chairs and tables on an outside terrace which catches the sun. I stayed here over Christmas and remember having a nice slice of apple pie with ice cream in the afternoon whilst basking in the sunlight. Far cry from back home! The restaurant serves very good food and, in fact, I ate here a few times as it was so good and very well priced. They serve the normal Indian and Chinese affair plus pasta, pizza's, chicken fillets/steaks, lasagne and some good deserts. The hotel has a currency exchange in the internet cafe (which is rather pricy and you're better off visiting one nearby towards M.I. Rd) and their laundry is also very cheap. My room was Rs350.

Descent Budget Accomodation in Jaipur

Evergreen is a popular place with backpackers and has a couple hundred guests. The rooms are very basic but come with a bathroom, hot water, sheets, and a ceiling fan (absolutely crucial). The paint is pealing, the fan makes a lot of noise but it’s descent. The food here is not bad if you don’t feel like going out into town. Breakfasts are the best time to catch a meal here. Internet here is ridiculously expensive. There is an internet café nearby, save your rupees.

Singles are 125 Rs
Doubles are 150 Rs (much more expensive than other towns in Rajasthan)
