Jasvilas

We had a wonderful holiday at Jas Vilas - JANUARY 2006
The accomodation was clean and comfortable.
The meals were pretty good and the staff were wonderful.
dining area faces a lovely flowergarden.
Jas Vilas is situated away from the hustle and bustle from the city but still not too far away from the sights.

More about Jas Vilas

Loved Jas Vilas

by TripAdvisor Member PenelopeUK

Jas Vilas is run by a lovely couple, Lily and Mahandra. It's clean, quiet and very comfortable, with pretty balconies, garden and pool. It's great to escape the hustle and bustle of Jaipur and return to the beautifully decorated home, where Lily provides a 3 course home cooked dinner. We ate in nearly every night, as apart from being tired after a day's sight seeing, the meal was delicious and very good value. There is internet on hand and always an auto rickshaw driver waiting at the end of the drive to take you into Jaipur.

Jas Vilas - We Were Quite Pleased

by TripAdvisor Member mylesfire

Spent a few days in Jaipur in October, 2007, which is supposed to be the beginning of the busy season. Was concerned about how much accommodation costs in Jaipur, one of Rajasthan's most popular destinations. Had received recommendation for Jas Vilas from Aruja Residency in Delhi (a delightful place). Booked double room #306 for Rs. 2800/night. Have a feeling that other rooms may go for less -- Rs. 2000. All meals were extra. Overall experience was great: clean and confortable rooms, reasonable price, very helpful owners, good location and a very pleasant staff. At first, had some issues with a/c in the room but it got fixed in the course of a day. Had to play with shower to get right combination of hot and cold water but it worked sufficiently although not very strong pressure. Marble in bathroom was very ncie. Buffet dinners were fine and i particularly enjoyed the aubergine (eggplant) and bindi (ladyfingers) vegetable dishes. I skipped breakfast. Internet access was fast. Location was great. Auto rickshaw drivers wait outside for your business. No need to be in thick of the Jaipur action when you are only 10 minutes away by a Rs. 50 auto rickshaw. Owner Mr. Singh arranged reasonable priced (metered!) non a/c taxi at night -- Pink City Taxi. He also arranged 3 day car/driver trip to Mandawa with drop off in Delhi thru Jamna Tours. Esteem vehicle with very strong a/c on all the time -- US $175 total. No extra charges. We had a million inquiries for Mr. Singh and he never got tired answering them. Really enjoyed the small scale of the hotel -- not too big. Some hammering and construction began every morning at exactly 9:00 AM at the Jas Vilas and the mansion next door, too. The whole block is being built with fancy condos. ATM across the street.

A gem of a guest house

by TripAdvisor Member audace11

The Jas Vilas guest house is a gem. The entire property is lovely: exquisite hand-painted walls and ceilings, beautiful furniture, airy verandas, sparkling pool, lush gardens. Internet service is available and reasonable.

The food was delicious and inventive. (Reserve ahead.)

We arranged an airport pickup and recommend it. Jas Vilas arranged for a car to take us to the palaces, including Amber palace and the Monkey palace out of town. Great.

We found auto-rickshaw driver Rafik just outside the hotel ([--], [--]) and hired him for our shopping tour in the old town. He was great, and he showed us wonderful shops that were off the beaten path. Very spiffy rickshaw, and Rafik is a charming guide.

A very good midrange hotel in Jaipur

by TripAdvisor Member bt7

My wife and I stayed at Jas Vilas for 4 nights in March.

Hotel and room were very neat, clean, and quiet.

Pool looks nice, but is used as a bathroom by lots of pigeons.

Staff were pretty good, and were fairly pleasant.

Food was excellent, though breakfast buffet was way overpriced.

Location is a little out of the way, but this is probably a good thing as it's out of the clamor of downtown.

Overall, a very good midrange hotel.

A gem in the wonderful madness that is Jaipur

by TripAdvisor Member Darius4522

A genuine oasis in the madness that is Jaipur. After battling the chaotic traffic, it was always a very welcome relief to get back to this charming and well run small hotel.

Our room was clean and well equipped, the food was outstanding, and the pool was wonderful - not to mention the gorgeous garden.

Jas Vilas is an absolute gem for people wanting to stay in a small hotel that offers a genuine slice of India and to do so at a modest price.

Despite being centrally located, it has a calming ambience and has delightful young staff who offer extremely friendly service. I couldn't fault the place.

A Jewel in Jaipur

by TripAdvisor Member shani33

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jas Vilas. It is a small haveli with friendly hosts and excellent service. The quality of our room was superb - spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with hand painted ceilings and other features. The bathroom was especially nice - second only to the bathroom we had in the Lake Palace Hotel in Udaipur! There are two dining areas, one inside and the other by the pool. We enjoyed our first evening meal so much we never bothered to go anywhere else. Lit by candles at night and accompanied by soft music, the evening meal took the form of a buffet, beautifully presented and with plenty of delicious dishes to choose from. Atogether excellent value.

Treated like a family guest

by TripAdvisor Member KK0723

Elegant and charming family-run heritage house. We felt like being treated like their family guests and the service by their staff is more than impressive.

My mom was originally booked at the hotel next door (run by another family member) but she didnt like it that much. The owners at Jas Vilas didnt mind and called us another hotel across the street and sent us a pickup. By day two I got very sick and they called in a doctor for me and let me stay in the room even way beyond my checkout time. Defintly touched by these warm gestures!! Our room at #108 is spacious and artistically decorated and garnished with indian style objects and paintings. Bathroom is enormous! Only draw back is lack of hot water from time to time but given the heat that shouldnt matter that much. Food is average and very pricy (costs us almost 3000 RP in two days for 3 people) but probably convenient given its location at a quite residential area.

Overall very impressive service and defintly a memorable experience!

a relaxing haven in Jaipur

by TripAdvisor Member oskarcat76

this is a real find in Jaipur. The hotel is quite small so has a secluded feel which is very relaxing. It has been decorated with very pretty paintings on the ceilings which give a nice authentic touch to the place. Breakfast and evening meals can be provided by the pool with very tasty indian food. The pool also brings welcome relief to the heat of Jaipur in the summer. Service was always with a smile and we really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended
