A Bad Choice to Stay in Jaipur

I recently stayed at Om Tower Hotel with my extended family which includes 3 kids - a 2 years old, 5 years and 6 years old.

The staff was courteous and stay was all right except the non-working Air conditioning in one of our rooms. We complained but ignored the non-responsiveness; we were too busy to roam in the city.

We realized our bad decision of picking up the expensive as well as bad hotel when we checked out. The hotel has included a charge of 3000/- for a spoiled linen. The very first day, kids dropped some sauce on the bed sheet. Come on! a sauce stain which we removed from the kids clothes by washing it in the warm water. The hotel staff, including the manager on duty and house keeping refuse to dip the bedsheet in the water to clean it up.

In any case, I felt that the hotel this expensive should be able to bear such incidental expenses. I could imagine a cheap road side motel not being able to bear the expense of spoiled bedsheet but a hotel which charges 4000/- + per day.

Anyway, the saga did not ended there - they had to throw more insult on us. I felt worse when hotel security guard did not let me load one of our bags into our car while one of us was paying the bill (overcharged). They surrounded us as if we were criminals who might run away without paying the bill. Never before we had experienced anything like this anywhere in the world. I certainly did not expect anything close to this from a Best Western Hotel.

When asked to explain about the non-working Air conditioning the staff was rude enough to tell us that we were making up the complaint to save the 3000/-. As per their records, no call was made from our room about non-working air conditioning.

We called up the head but he was equally non-courteous and unreasonable. The manage on duty, Mr. Jawaha Singh seemed very courteous first but eventually turned out to be highly unprofessional.

We can not recommend this hotel to anyone. You are better off camping outside in the wild.
