    Best budget accommodation in Jodhpur

    by

We stayed in Durag Niwas in October 2009, and were extremely pleased with the accommodation and the hotel.
The family who run it lives on the premises. As every other house in Jodhpur, Durag Niwas is blue, as Jodhpur is known as Blue City of India.
The building is circular typical architecture of the area, with very calm and restful courtyard with luscious seating area and water fountain.
The rooms are decorated in Rajastani colours with handmade bedspreads and nice western bathrooms with hot showers.
Every room has sealing fan & mosquito nets on the door and windows.
price per nite is Rs300 for double room and breakfast Rs 40.
We really enjoyed our stay there and I recommend it to anybody on budget or not.
In Durah Niwas you are part of the family and the owners are really helpful and considering.

Unique Quality: The Hotel also run non-profit organisation The Sambhali Trust.
    http://www.sambhali-trust.org/
Which teaches and empowers woman & girls and give them purpose in life.
They take volunteers from around the world to help in the trust's school.
You can stay in the hotel and get 3 meals a day (with the family) for 100 Euros a month and you can volunteer in the program.

    A cozy friendly stay

    by

We just went there to ask for a room while we were coming from a trip by local buses for 7 hours and was totally tired!!! They were friendly enough to find us a room although it looked that it was fully booked!! The room was more than perfect with AC and seperate living room with lots of pillows on the ground seperated by colorful curtains from sleeping room. A very big area with ac for just 17 $ per night!! The hotel area is also very nice decorated and you feel like being at home! Food is also tasty but a little bit overpriced for india standard.
They were also helpful in helping us booking tickets for rest of our trip. The other good point was that it was located in calm part of the city but you could get to main spots easily. Definitely recommend it
