The Town of ShimlaShimla
Shimla and the surrounding area are very scenic and beautiful. The view of the Himalaya mountain range is simply picturesque. I had seen some pictures in my travel guide that lead me to want to explore this place. Being an avid photographer any area that offers picture opportunities is enticing.
The car ride to Shimla is a thrill in itself. Driving in India is a crazy endeavor to begin with, but when you throw in the twists and turns and altitude of climbing the mountains of Himachal Pardesh into the mix it’s quite an adventure.
The ride to Shimla was very stunning, along the way you will encounter something very interesting…the inquisitive little faces of monkeys. The monkey population in Shimla and surrounding areas is booming. They are everywhere along the streets. In fact, while we were there a news story came out that 1,000 monkeys were captured and relocated to the jungles.
