Tallest in the area
I met up with a couple of Canadian girls over breakfast one morning and we got talking about visiting Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh. I mentioned about the possibility of hiring a car and driver for the day and then met up with them at their hotel (the Hotel Lake View) when we went on the day trip. They showed me there room with was fairly modern, large and airy and they said it only cost about Rs300. The hotel features one of the highest restaurants in the area so you can get a good view over the lake and Lake Palace Hotel at night.

The business choice
I stayed here years ago in 1992. From what I remember this was a fine hotel a bit outside the town centre. Rooms were modern big and airy. It's more of a business type hotel though and didn't have much character. Just don't come here expecting romance!
