I really want to visit Kumbhalgarh fort and wildlife park, but am totally cluless about logistics! please let me know if you have any information and prices for:
-A cheap hotel near Kumbhalgarh
-Getting to Kumbhalgarh from udaipur airport - taxi cost? Or pre arranged coach tour etc?
any other tips or comments from those who have been here would be appreciated!

Hello...Kumbhalgarh fort can be done in a day trip from Udaipur. The cost iis really reasonable, and a driver is provided. About R2500.The Fort is majstic in scale, but only takes a few hours to see. There is not much else worth seeing at Kumbhalgarh unfotunately. But the roadside scenery is grat. Spend more time in Udaipur!! It is the most beautiful city in India. See my pages for pictures!
Jag Niwas - better known as Lake Palace seems to float on the Pichola Lake.
Built in 1746 - the story goes that a young prince Jahat Singh asked his father for permission to go with the ladies of his court to the nearby Jag Mandir.His father refused - and so this palace of pleasure was built by the son himself.
the fateh prakash palace is a marvel in itself. but the traditional ethos is well maintained with well attired guards at gates.even the people serving you at the hotel and conference venue are attired in traditional royal attire.
it consists of a turban with decorations signifying the importance you have in royal service.
a traditional full length dress which is tied with strings or buttons gold plated usually at the back front or sides.a waist band known as "cummerband"tight fitting trousers known as pyjama.
earstuds rings complete the picture.
mojadis or traditional leather crafted handmade shoes make the footwear.
the well decorated person above was our tea provider between breaks at the durbar hall venue.he was well versed with the art of tea making and the different type of teas and in waht way people like to have them.
he was using beautiful silverware to serve the beautiful teas.
Nagda is 23 kms on N.H. 8 to Jaipur The ancient site dating back to the 6th century A.D. is renowned for the Sas-Bahu temples (9t - 10th century A.D.) with interesting architecture and carvings. The splendid Jain temples of Adbudji are also worth a visit.
We went to Hathi Pole to get away from the tourist areas. It was really interesting to see everyone going about their business and to be able to walk around without getting harrased every minute to buy something.
Each maharaja has left its own mark and extensions on city place. inside the palace is the paintings, king and queens rooms . on the entrance there are armoury and above the surya chopar a huge solid gold sun king. a must to see is also chini mahal and moti mahal.
