Gangtok's Better Hotels on M.G Road:

Tashi Delek means - Good Fortune! The Sikkimese people toast on these words and wish someone well and greet friends!

Tashi Delek undoubtedly most famous and splurge hotel in Gangtok since 1980's. It is on the main mall Mahatma Gandhi Road( M.G.Road) and owned by The Chogiyal family the eaarlier rular of Sikkim. It is still very famous among movie stars, rich people and bearaucrats. Now Gangtok has many better hotels spread in the whole city even five star hotels but location and service wise this hotel is still the best.

Since it is very expensive, this hotel now survives on corporate booking only as the city has far better hotels than this. It does not attaract much individual booking. For corporate booking or group booking thru' travel agent they offer heavy discount. I cross checked with Cox & Kings, who also handles our travels.

Unique Quality: It has 40 well decorated rooms and suites. They also claim they have the softest and most comfortable bed among all Gangtok hotels.

BTW, this time I did not stayed there but I have stayed there on our company's program before in2003 that time I did not have a digital camera. But I did visit this place talked to them and took some pictures and collected brochure.
