how to live to the age of Methusalem
by Freiner
This was the most exciting and unusal therapeutic massage i had in India and beyond.
The Ayush Therapy Centre in Chennai. For the uninitiated it might take a bit of courage -as you are basically stripped naked and soaked in spiced oil from head to toe. And then the fun starts as 2 expert masseurs rub it in (and off afterwards). A highly recommended experience for every soul ! This massage is setting a new standard for me what a therapeutic treatment can be!
Their advertisement is saying that you might live up to the blessed age of 120 yrs if you come every day - not sure if Chennai makes up for this outlook ;-)

by rahulkesu about SPENCERS PLAZA MALL
IF YOU ARE IN CHENNAI AND WANT TO SPEND LITTLE TIME SEARCHING FOR FOOD, I SUGGEST YOU GO TO SPENCERS PLAZA ON MOUNT ROAD. IT HAS A VARIETY OF FOOD FROM SUBWAYS , FRIED CHICKEN (MARYBROWN) A DISTANT RELATIVE OF KFC, TO LOCAL FOOD . GOOD AIRCONDITIONING WHICH IS VERY ESSENTIAL IN CHENNAI. PREFER TO EAT A QUICK BITE HERE AND IF YOU HAVE THE TIME VENTURE OUT TO EAT SOME AUTHENTIC FOOD
Fort St George Museum

The Fort Museum exhibits the items of the British rule. This building was completed in 1795 and first housed the office of the Madras Bank. The hall upstairs was the Public Exchange Hall and served as a place for public meetings, lottery drawings and occasionally for entertainment. These relics are the reminder of the British rule in India. The objects on display in the museum are the weapons, coins, medals, uniforms and other artifacts from Britain, France and India dating back to the British period. The original letters written by Clive and Cornwallis make fascinating reading. One set of quaint period uniforms is displayed for viewing, as well. However, the piece de resistance is a large statue of Lord Cornwallis.
The third picture is of the Anstruther Cage, a tiny wooden cage which was brought to Chennai from China, where for more than a year in the 19th century it was used as a particularly sadistic form of imprisonment for a British captain.
The entrance fee was 100INR in March 2009.

"Chennai T o Pondicherry"
The ride from Chennai to Pondicherry is full of scenic beauties. The best part of it is ECR Road.We took a cab from Chennai to Pondichery which cost us arount 2800 Rs INR with a night Stay in pondicherry. Stop anywhere in the middle to see the beautiful beach and see the untamed beaches.Places to watch are one tourist spot on the way just out side chennai. You can go to Crockodile Park having a snake park inside which is one of the largest Anti-Venom plants in India. Then you can take a stopage at the Little Folk park having the sea lion show (Seal) for 20 mins. Then you can stop at Mahabalipuram and see some of the anchient temples. Then move to the pondicherry beach and see the sunset or the sunrise which is the most beautiful and memorable site of my life.

"Busy City Streets"
Walking down the streets of Chennai cna be hazardous to the untrained. The faint hearted will be shocked. To those who are adventurous and used to this stuff, it is an eye opener. Very dusty and sometimes very dangerous, one can get used to this kind of surroundings. You may even enjoy it. Oh yeah, Spencer's is the place to go.
