Clean beaches
by machoe
The worst Auto rickshaw service i the country. the drivers cheats & cheats only by 200% plus every time. BE CAREFUL ! Good development in outer part of the city. Mount Road - one of the main street in the city is very gloomy in the night (bad street lights) and huge traffic.

Food Court at Ascendas
by tayloretc about Planet Yumm
My, how the world gets smaller. There are Planet Yumms around Chennai, which are basically mall food courts, but this one is, as of this writing, the most American-mall place I’ve seen outside the US. It’s part of an industrial complex housing internationals, and is commonly known by the name of the complex, Ascendas. Sandwiches, subs, pizza, Chinese, KFC, one of the first McDonalds in Chennai (beefless, of course), Mövenpick ice cream, a coffee shop around the corner... There’s an optional patio, but inside looks like any food court anywhere in the US, and is just as air-conditioned and self-contained. Although, the KFC, at least, invites patrons on a tour of the kitchen, which I don’t think happens in the US. And the secret spices have a little more kick than usual.
A note on the incongruity: as I (the only foreigner in sight) walked out toward the gate through the completely empty drive and parking lot, I was whistled and waved back onto the pedestrian path by three different guards at once. Anyone who has been in India will understand just how surreal that is.

Where is Chennai ( Madras) ?
by Shiv77
Chennai is a cosmopolitan city located in the Southern part of India.
A coastal city situated near the mighty Bay of Bengal, it enjoys a sultry, tropical weather round the year barring few spells of rainfall.
A conservative society with rich culture and traditional values, Chennai's skyline is occupied by lots of temples, a must visit to enjoy their magnificent architectural wonder !
The local cuisine is generally Vegetarian, you also get good sea food in the city.
A visit to Chennai is not complete without Mahabalipuram & Pondicherry.
